The Zen 2 based 3rd gen Ryzen series gives us a wide range of CPU’s from 6 to 12 cores available right now for the mainstream market and later, in September, we’ll even have a 16 core CPU available.
But Ryzen 3000 is just that, A Mainstream Line of processors. What happens if you want to go for something with more PCIe Lanes, More power, more cores but still benefit from the Zen 2 architecture. Well, you would have to wait for Threadripper 3. Now earlier this year Threadripper seemed to have vanished from AMD’s plans but it looks like we just got an update on that.
According to Digitimes, Both Intel and AMD plan to release new “Top-end desktop CPU’s in October. And since AMD already revealed their whole top end for the mainstream market, all that would be left is the High-end desktop segment.. aka Threadripper 3.
Now I wonder how AMD will handle Threadripper 3 since we now have 2 Ryzen 3000 CPU’s that have the same core count as 2 of the current Threadripper CPU’s.

Let’s get started with Nvidia, a few weeks ago during their GTC presentation , Nvidia had announced that they would add support for DirectX Ray Tracing for more of their GPU’s. Well If you update your drivers now you can Raytrace on the GTX 1060, 6gb only, 1070 , 1070ti,1080 and 1080 ti. As for the 16 series of cards the GTX 1660 and 1660ti both support it now.
So how do they perform ? Well like trash. On pretty much all the testing done by Nvidia, even the 1080Ti had trouble breaking 50FPS with most of the results in the 30’s.
With the release of the drivers Nvidia also added a couple of tech demos to try out, You can now try out the star wars demo , Atomic Heart and Justice on your pc if your GPU is on that list. Plus, if you don't have an Nvidia card, you can mess around with some RTX on and off demo’s on their website.

Believe it or not, right now is the best time to buy a mid-range GPU. While the first half of 2019 was filled with cards above MSRP, and the second half introduced AMD’s 5700 series at a reasonable price to performance ratio, 2020 looks to be even better.
First, the news, Nvidia has just reduced the suggested price for an RTX 2060. At first, we thought that it was just EVGA going to for the cheapest 2060 at 300$ with a 20$ rebate, but since then, Nvidia has changed the price on their website to 299. This is likely a response to AMD’s RX 5600 XT which comes in at a price of 279. Specs-wise this card has 10-15% lower clock speeds slower memory and 2gb less compared to the RX 5700.
So why did I say that now is the best time to buy a midrange card? Well, almost every one of these cards are going above, and most importantly, below the MSRP. Starting with AMD, the RX 5700 performs around 4% slower than the 2060 super, That 4% number is kind of insignificant in my opinion since both cards were trading blows on most of the games, Link below for the source. Anyways, the 5700 usually priced at 349 can be found for as low as 319. Sure it might not be the greatest variant, but it’s still the RX 5700. As for the RX 5700 XT, while the MSRP is at 399, it can be found for as low as 349. This card performs about 8 to 10% faster than the RTX 2060 super. On Nvidia’s side, well we have the RTX 2060 which dropped down to 299. A great price given it should perform around the same as the upcoming RX 5600 XT. a little lower is the 1660ti which can be found for about 20$ cheaper than MSRP at 259 although, there aren’t a lot of those.
Now sure, we could go around arguing that AMD has great features like Radeon boost and chill. And Nvidia has hardware-accelerated ray tracing and DLSS, but that’s on a case by case scenario depending on what you want. For example, I would pick a specific card just because some games were bundled in.
Anyways, going lower or higher in the stack doesn’t really make sense since I would consider those lower end or high-end GPUs. So yeah, right now is the best time to shop for a mid-range card. You could wait for Nvidia’s 3000 series, but then you might want to wait for AMD’s 6000 and you could get stuck in that loop for a long time. If you were ready to buy you got the info you need.

there are rumors that 4 more variants are joining the family. The supers. According to leaker extraordinaire Kopite 7 Kimi over on twitter, Supers are coming in at pretty much every level of the stack. We would have a 3060 super, 3070 super, 3080 super, and, surprisingly, a 3090 super. So what could change in these GPUs ? well, Kopite says that no memory sizes will change. So, it doesn’t seem like that 3080 20gb is coming to market any time soon. What we are getting is a pretty huge bump in the Cuda core count.
Let’s start from the top. The RTX 3090 super would have 10752 Cuda cores. That’s a tiny little bump from the original at only 2.44%. This is basically a fully unlocked GA102 chip. Now, this 3090 super was already talked about a couple of weeks ago. Something else that changes with this super variant is the memory bandwidth with a 7.2% boost. If this happens.. All I gotta say is WHY? It's such a tiny change. Plus, the TDP is rumored to jump to 400W. Insane.
Next, we got the 3080 super. It would get 8960 Cuda cores. A small 3% jump in core count. Once again, that’s tiny… While it wasn't mentioned by Kopite, I bet a memory speed boost is probably in the books. I mean 3% is nothing.
Then we have the 3070 super, it would get 5888 Cuda cores which is…. Well, its the exact same thing as the regular 3070. For the 3070 super, the memory would be the variable with the good old gddr6 being swapped for some much faster GDDR6X. Interesting.
And probably the most interesting of all, the RTX 3060 super. Now this one gets a huge jump in core count. Now, a big pinch of salt here because it's kind of ridiculous. It would have almost 60% more Cuda cores. From 3584, to a whopping 5632. That’s insane. Its more than the 3060 Ti which is crazy. The only redeeming thing from this rumor is that currently, there are some RTX 3060’s in china being shipped with GA 104 chips instead of the usual GA 106. GA 104 is what is in the 3060 ti and 3070. So.. yeah.. its the only clue that this could be possible.

Let’s get started with AMD, the company finally wrapped up their RX 6000 series of GPU’s, or at least I hope they did, with their new 50 XT series. This means, no more refreshes, and we can leave RDNA 2 behind. In the last couple of weeks, many Leaks and rumors have popped up on their next generation of GPUs based on the RDNA 3 architecture AKA the RX 7000 series.
It’s interesting, but still, Just specs. What are AMD’s performance targets? What performance uplift are they looking for with RDNA3. Well, At the top end, both Nvidia and AMD have similar targets.
On the green team, 2 times the performance of an RTX 3090 is the goal. What about AMD? Well, according to kopite over on twitter, we’re looking at 2X the performance in 4K gaming, and over 3.5X the performance in ray tracing. Now, why is it specifying 4K gaming? well, according to the recent HUB video with 50 games, the 6900 XT, on average, struggles at 4K against even an RTX 3080. So this might be an area of focus for them. As for the 3.5X on ray tracing. That’s going to be really impressive if they can achieve this. Right now with their 6900 XT, they’re not far behind even beating a 3090 in some cases. So tripling that performance is an insane performance boost.

So in about a month, we’ll finally see what AMD has been teasing for almost a year! Last June was the first time we saw the company showcase its 3D V cache technology. Back then it was on a 5900X locked at 4Ghz, and when they compared both the chip with and the one without 3D V cache, AMD said that a performance boost of about 15% was added with the 3D chip.
Fast forward to CES and there's no mention of the 5900X with 3D V Cache. Instead, it was the 5800X that got the Stacked chip treatment. But is it too little too late for this chip? That’s what we’re discussing, on your boot sequence.
Let’s jump right into it. In terms of Gaming performance, AMD put their new 5800X3D against their own 5900X and a 12900k. Now, the 5900X is already faster than the original non-3D 5800X in gaming. Not by much, but still a couple of percents faster. In AMD’s charts, the 5800X3D was on average 15% faster at 1080P Gaming. So, way faster than its predecessor.
If we look at the 12900K comparison, the 5800X3D Wins some and Ties some. I’m sure it loses some, but we’ll have to wait for reviews to see how it fares.
Anyways, with the information at hand, we can guesstimate that the 5800X3D is the fastest gaming processor in town. But what if you’re not just gaming? I mean, I sure am not just gaming, and everyone I know who needs a powerful CPU has at some point tried something else that was CPU intensive like recording or streaming gameplay at higher quality settings than the GPU can offer, 3D modeling, Game creation, video editing or even Music production. All of these need a strong CPU. So does the 5800X3D measure up with its new Stacked cache?

Let’s get started with AMD, the company decided that their EPYC lineup needed a little sprucing in the low end, so, they just released some pretty insane 8 - 16 and 24 core processors.
The 8 core EPYC 7F32 brings in considerably higher clock speeds at 3.7Ghz base and 3.9 single-core boost. Compared to 2.9Ghz all core boost on the older EPYC 7251.It also gets the same number of PCIe lanes at 128, although this time its PCIe gen4, It has 4 times the amount of L3 Cache at 128MB compared to the 7251 and has a much higher memory bandwidth.
There’s also a new 16 core called the 7F52 with once again, much higher clocks, PCIe gen 4, faster memory and 4 times the L3 cache. The specs are on the screen right now, and there’s also a new 24 cores the 7F72 with similar improvements. Price-wise, yeah they’re a little expensive especially for an 8 core at 2100$ per thousand units but for some businesses, the core count is usually not on the priority list when buying an EPYC CPU. The support and many extra features are.

First we have Samsung which patented some extra features for their next Gen S Pens ! With the Galaxy note 9 we saw samsung bring bluetooth to the pen allowing for some well needed feature to the little stick. You could trigger your camera from a distance for pictures, use it for media playback, presentations, basically anything you could do with a single button.
Well it looks like samsung has much bigger future plans for the little pen because they patented a camera system for it. The patent was filed back in early 2017 but it got granted yesterday. Cameras in smartphones are kind of limited to the thickness of the device, and this causes optical zoom to be hard to achieve so companies often just include a second camera. Some companies like Oppo do the smart thing in my opinion and decided to flip the camera assembly on the side to allow for a longer barrel for the camera. In this patent , Samsung uses the length of the pen as the barrel for the camera to allow for an optical zoom. Now there are a lot of ways this isn’t really practical given the size of the current S pen the image sensor that would be in it or even the battery life of such a pen but it's nice to see different and creative ways the pen could be used.
