THIS GUIDE IS FOR AN OLD VERSION OF KSP. "CAREER MODE" in this release is now "SCIENCE MODE" in the current release.

There's a lot of stories about asteroid 16 Psyche being worth ridiculous amounts of money based on its mineral content. And the truth is that yes it probably has more accessible gold than most places in the solar system, it's still an inaccessible rock in the middle of the asteroid belt.
But it's still a fascinating rock in the middle of the asteroid belt.

In response to suggestions that gravity losses account for the 200m/s difference in my calculated dV requirements. By Launching from the moon you can calculate the gravity losses, and, it turns out that my initial estimate of 50m's is close to what this simulation showed.

It took hours and hours of designing and optimizing, but at last all this has borne fruit and the Mun Puncher is capable of fulfilling the mission goal. (and given it's copious amounts of dV it's able to do a lot more).
The music used for the finale is the Egmont Overture Finale:

So yeah, this is me trying to share how amazing this place is while Orion tries to distract me :)
For people who use real measurements - the Peak is 4,322 m high, and the mountain's volume is about 350 cubic km.

I'm struggling to get a functional Realism Overhaul setup working, to start a series with, but I thought I'd show the early part of the career mode where we're working with 1940's - 1950's sounding rockets for collecting science.

This is a video version of a talk I've given to small groups of educators, scientists and parents, I figure that it's worth making a version that can be shared.
