Cote' and Lorson formed ***”Madder Rose”*** with bassist ***Matt Verta-Ray*** and drummer ***Johnny Kick***. They had their first gig a few months later, and then, after distributing countless singles, they signed with ***”[Atlantic Records](https://cutt.ly/aml6g7F)”*** the next year. The band's music has been described as suggesting druggy languor, which inspired the British music press to trumpet ***”Madder Rose”*** as the second coming of the ***”[Velvet Underground](https://cutt.ly/kml6nPs)”***.
