My Phantom 2 Camera Drone Platform
Here the Phantom controller/transmitter. Above it is a 7”color monitor that displays the camera’s real time video and telemetry. The drone carries a GoPro camera in a stabilizing gimbal. On the right are FPV goggles that duplicate the video shown on the monitor. Most of the time I let a friend use the goggles for that cockpit experience. The drone is guided in part by GPS satellites. The drone can travel for more than a mile and the GPS will prevent it from getting out of transmitter range. This Phantom has the new retractable landing gear that prevents them from ever appearing in your video. Here you see the landing gear retracting and before landing they must be lowered once again. This drone can stay in the air for 25 minutes before the battery must be changed.
