Continuing on with my March of Deathstroke, we're gonna talk about the second arc of Tony Daniel's run. The God Killer! Slade has been tasked by Hephaestus himself to take out a powerful god before he can be released and is given the titular sword.
Unfortunately the sword speaks to Slade and tricks him to release the God instead. Now he and Wonder Woman have to team up to stop this god before it can destroy the world! With writer James Bonny this arc feels a bit tighter than the last one...but it still feels like it's stretched out to give Tony Daniel more cool stuff to draw. And near the end of the arc, Daniel's leaves and is replaced by Tyler Kirkham for the rest of the series.
This is still an intense action arc but...it's also still more of the same from the prior arc. If it wasn't for the God Killer blade returning in Wonder Woman for Year of the Villain, this entire run would have been superfluous.
That being said, it's still recommend if you want cool action and great art so check it out if you want.

A few years back I did a review about Zeboyd Game's Cthulhu Saves Christmas! Now I'm back to review their newest game. This way Madness Lies!
Basically...what if you mix Magical Girls with...Shakespeare. And you put in in a small jRPG style game? Well this is what you'd get! It's REALLY good, Really fun, AND at a great price for its length
Let us begin our tale, in the quiet city of Verona, Italy. A town for lovers... and giant, mutant flower attacks.
As the leader of the Stratford-Upon-Avon High Drama Society, Imogen is no ordinary girl! Sure, she goes to school every day and helps produce plays for the community, but beyond that, she's a magical girl! With her powers, she can teleport to alternate dimensions based on Shakespeare plays, fight back the forces of Nightmare, and still get back in time for dinner!
Join Imogen, Paulina, Viola, Rosalind, Miranda, Beatrice, and Kate on an epic adventure throughout the Shakespearean metaverse in this comedy JRPG!
• Unique, turn-based combat!
• Hang out with your friends!
• Put on plays!
• Shakespearean dialogue too difficult to parse? No problem with our unique Ye Olde English to New English translator! 110% accurate!
• Multi-character unite abilities!
• Teaches you while you learn!
• Get a pet!
• Pacing that doesn't waste your time!
• Fun for the whole family!
We believe that world needs more bite-size turn-based JRPGs - short, self-contained games that you can enjoy over a weekend or a few play sessions when you want a change of pace from big epics. Something that's all killer, no filler. We estimate that a single playthrough of This Way Madness Lies will take around 5-10 hours, depending on difficulty & playstyle, and we hope that you will enjoy every minute!

Ingrid and I are back again with another Gamera Movie Marathon as we rewind now to the original 8 movies of what is known as the Showa Era. We'll be going over it's highs and it's incredibly painful lows. Now for the record, we will be going with the AiP dubs/re-edits of the movies when applicable. The Sandy Frank dubs were just too corny (but we know at least one movie we'll have no choice but to use that one).
Continuing onto the sixth movie in our marathon, we get into what was surpisingly one of the better movies in this era! Basically this movie feels like what if director Noriaki Yuasa directed Barugon (the only showa film he didn't do) and what we get is a return to the darker type of stories, with an emphasis on the kids (possibly one of the better ones after Eiichi from Gyaos and Tora from The Brave) but not over doing it like what was done in Viras!
So what monster do we get now? We are introduced to Jiger, an ancient monster kept asleep by a statue called the Devil's Whistle from a place called Wester Island (Get it...like Easter Island) but when the statue is removed to use for an upcoming International Expo in Japan, the creature is awakened and goes on a rampage.
This movie is tied with Gyaos for most monster battles in the showa era (four total) as Gamera and Jiger put up a great fight. Jiger's attacks are deadly and do kill people (turning them into Skeletons) but to make things worse, at one point Jiger impregnates Gamera with an Offspring that's also a parasite! It takes the kids to kill it and save the giant turtle!
This movie was surprisingly well done! Ingrid and I did not expect the level of quality and level of darkness it reached (not that it was bleak but it was still darker than some of the prior films) and the monster action was very well done. It also gave us the most satisfying monster death in the entire showa era!
This is a highly recommended part of the series! Check it out if you ever get the chance.

Well 2018 wraps up in a few hours, so I guess it's time for me to explain what I'm looking forward to next year, what video games, movies, and Comics.
And as I worked on this episode I realized something...a LOT of things, movies especially, feel like I'm just...obligated to want to go to some of them. Many of the movies are wrapping up a trilogy, or a long going story arc, or it's a franchise I love and want to make sure it's done well, etc etc. It doesn't detract me from seeing them but...it doesn't make me more excited either.

On Today's lesson of Pro Teaches n00bs, Bianca & I go over one of the more original Elseworlds. JLA: The Secret Society of Super-Heroes by Howard Chaykin, David Tischman, & Mike McKone. What if the Heroes never went public?
They're the greatest heroes the world has ever known... and the world doesn't even know they exist. Sacrificing personal recognition for the cause of justice. Serving as judge, jury, and executioners. Forsaking fame & fortune for the greater good. But after fifty years of operating in the shadows, the Secret Society demands it's moment in the spotlight... it's time to go public: and the world will never be the same.

Hey guys, just trying to get back into my proper groove and what better way to do that than to review some of my crowdfunded comics backlog! To start with, I'm going back to a book I discussion long ago but never did a proper review of it. Ya Boi Zack's first volume of Iron Sights. Why? Because tomorrow I'll be discussing the follow up Iron Sights 2 Psychos.
This is a story about two men with one goal doing it for different reasons. Ramadi, a former Marine who, in trying to save a girl about to be executed, inadvertently starts a Border War! And Woods, a cynical veteran in his own right comes home and ends up saving Ramadi after he gets himself in too deep. Together the two decide to bring down the cartel...the cartel Woods used to work for!
What transpires is a pretty much a grind house film in comic form as we get action, witty talking scenes, violence, etc etc! And it's well told, very straight forward. The amount of characters isn't overwhelming, they all look distinct, and when a main character dies there is at least proper build up or it feels like it makes sense...yeah you can probably guess if I'm getting this specific I may have had issues with Iron Sights 2...will get to that tomorrow.
Overall this was a great first proper release from Ya Boi Zack and one of the earlier Crowdfunded releases of a comic in this community and it was not a bad start at all, at least in my opinion. Highly recommended.
