Antifascist coalition block homeless camp eviction in Philadelphia
"This is your final notice," police told a homeless encampment in Philadelphia, promising to force people living on public property to leave as of 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
A coalition of antifa and public housing activists barricaded the camp, preparing to defend it from police. Police showed up, but did not raid the camp as expected.

"Globalize the Intifada!" chanted pro-Palestine demonstrators marching in Tampa, Florida on Saturday. "Free, free Palestine!"
In chants and signs, some emphasized "Jesus was born in Palestine."
One man in Tampa attempted to challenge the protesters "where do you stand on the LGBTQ?"
"We're neutral on it," one participant initially responded, before a marshal took over the conversation.
"Starbucks, Starbucks, we see you! You support genocide too!" the activists chanted as they passed a Starbucks.
"Shame on Jane! Shame on Jane!" chanted the organizers against Mayor of Tampa Jane Castor outside a tree lighting event Saturday night.
"Jane Castor, you can't hide, we charge you with genocide!" over her support for Israel, they chanted.

Cheers from fans erupted Wednesday afternoon outside the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia after a jury awarded Johnny Depp over Amber Heard in their defamation cases against one another.
Depp attorneys Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez spoke out after the verdict was rendered.
"Today's verdicts confirmed what we have said from the beginning, that the claims against Johnny Depp were defamatory and unsupported by any evidence," said Vasquez. "We are grateful, so grateful, to the jury for their careful deliberation."
"Our judicial system is predicated on each person's right to have his or her case heard and we were honored - truly honored - to assist Mr Depp in ensuring that his case was fairly considered throughout the trial," said Chew. "Now that the jury has reached its conclusive verdict, it's time to turn the page and look to the future."

A coalition of conservatives and opponents of anti-Semitism rallied in Ormond Beach, Florida on Saturday to oppose a planned demonstration by the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement.
The NSM had planned to rally in Ormond Beach, FL against Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
The city of Ormond Beach denied NSM a permit, describing them as a "public nuisance hate group."
The Nazis didn't show up, but Chitwood did, shaking hands with the anti-Nazi attendees.
The National Socialist Movement was intending to protest Sheriff Chitwood after a series of 4Chan trolls were arrested for allegedly threatening him online.
"I will use every legal measure in my power to crush these antisemitic racist cowards," he says.
As one rally-goer explained, the "Stand Against Anti-Semitism" rally in support of Sheriff Chitwood was sponsored by the Florida Eagle Forum, a conservative advocacy group.
"We're not here to engage in any violence," another said. "But we're here to make sure they understand that the folks that were supposedly threatening to come out here today, that we're not going to tolerate that type of behavior."
The "Stand Against Anti-Semitism" rally-goers celebrated as they concluded without any neo-Nazis showing up.
"We scared off the Nazis!"
"We won!"
Sheriff Chitwood spoke to News2Share following the "Stand Against Anti-Semitism" rally.
He says the attendees had emailed him throughout the week to express support for his stance against Anti-Semitism and pledge to stand up for him.
"It's a very very humbling experience," he says. "I didn't ask for this. In some ways it blows my mind."
"It's pretty damn amazing."

Over a hundred climate protesters were arrested Monday morning while blockading the entrances to the New York Federal Reserve.
The New York Police Department quickly issued a warning over a Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) and began arresting activists one by one.
"We need clean air, not another billionaire!" they chanted while refusing to leave. "Tax the motherf***ing rich!"
They demand the Fed stop supporting banks invested in fossil fuels.
"Arrest the real criminals!" they chanted as arrests began. "Arrest the climate criminals!"
"No oil, no gas!" the activists chanted as they were arrested by NYPD's "Disorder Control Unit" and "Strategic Response Group" outside the New York Federal Reserve.
"Fossil fuels can kiss my a**!"
"If you arrest one of us, a hundred more will come!" chanted the climate activists as NYPD zip-tie handcuffed and took away the last of them outside the New York Federal Reserve.
114 were reportedly arrested.
"End fossil finance, Fed, end fossil finance!" chanted a couple of the activists who had just been arrested outside the Fed before being led into a police vehicle.
"This is an emergency," one explained, before describing a "one for one" policy they'd like where for every dollar invested in fossil fuel infrastructure, one dollar is set aside for future bailouts when "society has crumbled because of fossil fuels."
An Indigenous activist drummed in support of them.
