Final Fantasy (NES) - Temple of Fiends (Past) - Lich (Rematch)
In basement 1 of the Temple of Fiends in the past, you’ll encounter Lich by a nearby stairway. For this battle, Lich’s stats are a little higher than the previous battle, but it has no updated moves. It’s no longer weak against fire spells but still weak against undead spells. A barrage of undead spells should bring it down in the first turn. Otherwise, just tack on some Temper, Haste, and Saber spells to power up. After the battle, continue your exploration. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhRG3ndD3JU

Zebstrika will use Spark to paralyze opponents and Flame Charge to speed itself up. After the battle, you’ll receive the Bolt Badge and a TM72 (Volt Switch). Murkrow will use Quick Attack as a finishing move to strike first. Houndoom will use Crunch, which has a 20% chance of lowering the target’s Special Defense stat.

After getting the Soul Badge, you have the option to Surf southwest from Fuchsia City to a place called Seafoam Islands. If you see boulders, use Strength to push them through the holes so the water currents stop moving you around randomly. Once you push the boulders into the water, use Surf and you’ll see the legendary bird Pokémon, Articuno. Save your game before you interact with it. Articuno is on Level 50. A legendary Pokémon won’t be easy to catch. Use status problem moves, like sleeping then hurl out some Ultra Balls.

Once you have the HM03 (Surf), you can Surf on water. Try doing this in the Pinwheel Forest for example. On the eastern side of the woods, go deeper into the forest and you’ll find Virizion. Save your game before you interact. Virizion is on Level 42. Its signature move is Sacred Sword, a Fighting type move that deals damage regardless of the target’s stat changes. Ultra Balls would be recommended or wait at night to use Dusk Balls. Furthermore, don’t attack Virizion with any Dark type move or else its Attack stat will raise with the Justified ability.

In this underground level, cross a big hole and you’ll encounter 3 Goombas in a garbage block tunnel. Hit invisible blocks and the garbage block above them to reveal a vine that will take you to a Warp Zone so you can go to either World 6, 7, or 8. If you’re still underground, you can go down one pipe for coins or continue ahead by crossing platforms going down. Continue ahead and you’ll see a Buzzy Beetle. A Buzzy Beetle cannot be harmed by fireballs. After 2 Koopas under a set of garbage blocks, you can stay above ceiling to go the Warp Zone that leads to World 5 or use the pipe by the wall to return to the surface so you can use the big stairway that leads to the flagpole.
