Vitamin C is essential for effective immune system function. It helps your white blood cells to do their job of identifying and killing pathogens, and making antibodies. The presence of Vitamin C also ensures your body has adequate levels of white blood cells. It has other important functions as well. It is required for the production of collagen, the most abundant protein in your body.
