Additional comments: One of the most well-known concerts of Dire Straits. Wembley Stadium on 11th June 1988 was the venue for a unique gathering of musicians and performers from all over the world who under the banner of Artists Against Apartheid paid tribute to Nelson Mandela for his 70th Birthday. An audience estimated to be well over half a billion people in some 63 countries participated in an event with a simple compelling message: "Free Nelson Mandela". Dire Straits appeared as the closing act of that unforgettable day with Eric Clapton on the second guitar. Until today, it was probably the most important and powerful concert in the Dire Straits history. This version has been made with the best versions I have come across, including the complete intro by Billy Connolly who finishes his intro after two minutes with the words: "Ladies and gentlemen, with a happy heart and a tear in either eye: Dire Straits!". The closure of the show is also included with Jessye Norman singing Amazing Grace.
A must-have for all fans!

Additional comments
Video containing the full documentary about Dire Straits in Israel. Very nice interviews with Mark Knopfler, Guy Fletcher, John Illsley, Jack Sonni and Ed Bicknell. The band can also be seen on stage in Israel playback some songs (So far away, Walk of life, Brothers in arms) and also live on stage with a large part of Ride across the river, great version! Funny anecdotes and believe it or not: Mark Knopfler riding a donkey. Total track time is about 33 minutes, picture quality is rather good for an old video tape. This documentary was aired on MTV in 1986.
