I was bored and the dogs were bored, mucky weather wise outside today, so.... decided to hard boil our own quail eggs and make so deviled eggs! First ever! And from our own hens. one of our customers was not able to get her eggs this past week. thus, we had a lot of extra quail eggs to do something with.
I rinsed them off. I got a good size boiling pot of water going. Once the boiling remained constant, in went all 24 eggs. I stired them also for the 3 minutes in that boiling water.
Then, I kept the eggs in the hot water for another 3 minutes and stirred some salt into the hot water. It has been said the salt will go into the egg shell to help soften the egg shell for peeling.
After the next 3 minutes had pasted, I poured all 24 eggs into a bowl of ice water for another 6 or 7 minutes.
I tested one cold egg by first crushing the top part of the egg where the air sack is at, then like any chicken egg, I crushed on all sides.
As seen in the video, the shell beautifully peeled off. DELICIOUS ?
