The weather is getting more extreme by the year and conversations about climate change are growing along with it. So when Michael Moore made the movie "Planet of the Humans" criticizing the corporate cooptation of the green movement he came under attack from well-connected activists. Lee Camp reports on how Bill McKibben, one of the targets of Moore's movie, has adopted a role of helping some of the worst industries and institutions out there to greenwash their images. In an op-ed from a year ago McKibben used his platform to rehabilitate the image of the US military. The reporting in this opening comes from Max Blumenthal at The Grayzone.
Also on this episode: Camp then covers the kangaroo court extradition trial of Julian Assange, and how Bob Woodward waited to release information proving that President Donald Trump knew that coronavirus was dangerous but he played it down. Natalie McGill reports on the lender Oportun, which markets itself as a compassionate payday lender for Latinos, but preys on that same population. Oportun has initiated a record breaking number of lawsuits against borrowers who fell behind on their payments. They targeted Latino populations because they're less likely to find lawyers to fight the law suits. Camp ends the show in memorium of the activist, writer, and lawyer Kevin Zeese who died suddenly last week.

The coronavirus is putting a serious dent in the meat industry as its low-paid factory staff are getting sick at staggering rates. This is keeping millions of livestock alive as the market struggles.

In this episode of Redacted Tonight, Lee opens by revealing the government sanctioned poison pusher, Monsanto’s backdoor deals. Cancer causing pesticides like Roundup were widely used, despite science to prove otherwise, but the company made a concerted effort to get scientists, the media, and the government on their side by filling their pockets or intimidating them. Monsanto also has unholy partnerships with universities which taints scientific research even further. Then Lee covers some of the most mind-blowing headlines from the week starting with the prosecution of bankers in Vietnam while American bankers are experiencing an all-time low of fines. What’s more disturbing is that news sites that keep track of how the kleptocracy is screwing and killing us at the same time, the alternative media, are now being censored by the all-powerful Google search engine. Our toddler-in-chief gets some new babysitters in the oval office: military commanders and plans to privatize the war in Afghanistan. The opioid epidemic continues in the United States while the weak state of Afghanistan continues to supply the drug. Then, in the second half, correspondent Natalie McGill joins Lee at the desk to talk about a privately-run prison in New Mexico which powers a small town’s economy by incarcerating people. Finally, correspondent John F. O’Donnell breaks down the latest in boycott movements and anti-boycott legislation, especially anti-Israel boycotts. This and more on Redacted Tonight.

Lee Camp looks into the fall of Reddit. The website was originally a bastion of free speech where antiestablishment viewpoints and news could be amplified over the corporate propaganda that people in the modern west are used to. The ruling class wouldn't allow that to stand. It's a sad story that has brought us to this point where the front page of Reddit acts as a repository for corporate and State Department propaganda.
Also in this episode:
Lee Camp gives some perspective on Joe Biden's $3 billion in cancelled student loan debts, compares US policing budgets to the rest of the world, and more.
Anders Lee exposes the real reason why philanthropy has been growing and what it means for the world at this unstable point in history. The Philanthropy Industrial Complex has been a staple of the capitalist system since the beginning. Widespread suffering is systemic to capitalism and the rich know that they'll be in trouble if they don't do anything about it.
Naomi Karavani reports on an investigation into the items being destroyed in Amazon warehouses, the US training of the Saudi Arabian agents who killed Jamal Khashoggi, and more.

Lee Camp has a moral line and the sociopaths in politics crossed it a long time ago. He compares Joe Biden's rhetoric to his actions past and present. It's easy for people to believe that when the president uses progressive language that he means what he's saying but any investigation of what the president really stands for will unveil an imperialist and a monster. Maybe this world would be a better place if we were all more certain about what we are and aren't willing to condone.
Also in this episode:
Lee Camp also reports on Glenn Greenwald's recent reporting exposing the deception factory that is the US's corporate media, and Hawaii being the first US state to declare a climate emergency.
Naomi Karavani joins Camp to discuss Israel's oppressive violence directed at Palestinians, and censorship from the social media corporations. Videos of Israeli forces and settlers attacking Palestinians were making their way around the internet until Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter started to delete the evidence of Israel's war crimes and suspend the people posting them. As the tragedy in apartheid Israel continues US corporations are also helping to make sure that we can't see their crimes.
Anders Lee contrasts the response to Israel's crimes in Palestine from the corporate media, who have overtly tried to cover up the extent of Israeli violence, and the US public, whose outrage has grown. Lee also reports on a labor victory in New York City over the restaurant Chipotle.

This week:
- Eleanor and Lee discuss the ongoing protests and actions across the nation (and indeed international!) following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
- Connecting the present to the past, the history of policing dating back to the slave patrols can not be ignored - the parallels can be felt in the streets.
+ riots vs uprisings, violence vs. property destruction and more.
