Hello and welcome to the Norton test! Norton is a well-known American antivirus and security leader. The software had a very bad reputation before but managed to rebound several years ago. In this version, Norton has a new look and abandons its small alerts for bigger and more detailed ones. Personally, I liked it before. I find the yellow alerts ugly and the blue bar very ugly...but that's a matter of taste.
As far as protection is concerned, Norton is still at the top! On the Web, it blocked all the malware I downloaded and has the luxury of stopping the fake crack at launch! No malware was dropped!
On the pack, Norton is much faster than before on the treatment of threats. However, it had a difficulty to remove a threat, it removed it thanks to Auto-Protect. Norton also resists on the pack, blocks the installation of RevengeRat thanks to its anti-intrusion system. It will only remain NetSupport on reboot (I did not reboot in video) The system is very easy to clean, Norton is recommendable.
QuickHeal is an Indian company that competes with its colleague, K7 Computer.
QuickHeal has been offering anti-malware solutions to help protect Internet users for many years.
Despite its lofty ambitions and a complete overhaul, QuickHeal will not be able to stay the course....
Huorong is a Chinese publisher, totally unknown to the general public.
It is one of the few companies to offer a totally free security suite.
In this BETA version, Huorong claims to have improved on the detection features of its v5 version, and has included a Machine Learning engine.
Let's take a look... Huorong, promising?
Hello and welcome to this comparison!
Today I'm going to compare F-Secure SAFE and Eset which are the most popular antivirus programs of the moment in the paid ones.
Will they compete? Are they equal? Let's see!
Hello and welcome to this comparison!
We will compare Eset against Acronis.
The 2 antiviruses have different approaches: Eset in the lightness, its engine and especially intended for novices.
Acronis has linked its antivirus to its backup tool and is based on its AI and Bitdefender.
Who will make a machine healthy?
Microsoft Defender has been the standard antivirus provided by Microsoft since Windows 8.
On Windows 10, Microsoft considerably improved its antivirus, and continued with Windows 11.
In this test, I've been asked to add Andy Full's WHHLight with settings predefined by the editor.
I'm also adding MSOffice anti-exploit and FirewallHardening, which blocks all connections by Trojans using system processes (LOLBins).
SWH adds more rules later.
A totally different test in which we compare 3 antivirus programs: Kaspersky, Norton and ESET, against malicious scripts.
The antivirus programs have been left to default to scanning and executing the remaining scripts.
Hello and welcome to the Huorong test!
Huorong is a Chinese antivirus that is starting to make a name for itself.
For a long time unknown, the editor has gained popularity with the help of Malware Hunters and other testers.
Huorong's big plus point: It's totally free!
The interface has not changed, even if it is relatively clear, I find it a little old-fashioned... a little refresh I say no!
The software is very light.
As far as web protection is concerned, Huorong almost did a perfect job ! A threat has passed through. Huorong has the luxury to block some malware with the Sandbox and Behavior!
But, he was not so lucky on the pack.
In spite of an improved detection engine, it is the ice shower on the execution...
A malware managed to kill the protection, making the machine very vulnerable!
The engine started to consume a lot of CPU due to the infection, which pushed me to stop the test.
Even if Huorong is improving, I can't recommend it yet. Too bad, it was starting so well....
Microsoft Defender is the security solution provided by default in Windows since Windows 8.
On Windows 7, the product was called Microsoft Security Essentials.
After a long period in which Microsoft's tools lagged far behind threats, Microsoft overhauled its copy in 2016 by being the first to deploy AI Machine Learning technology. It was the first to block Emotet!
For this test, I was asked to also use ConfigureDefender, which enables additional product settings, which I did.
Overall : Great product !
Malware Hunter is an anti-malware software edited by GlarySoft, the ones who edit Glary Utilities.
Although it is easy to use, the protection is non-existent ....
