I made this video to help you prepare for the IELTS test. We are starting with the listening test because it will help you understand 2 main ideas.

Active listening and Key Ideas/Words.
Key Ideas and Key Words help you to know what to listen for on a listening test. By looking at the questions and answers available on the test, we can find and identify the key thing we should listen to in the dialogue or monologue. Key Ideas and Key Words help us know when to pay attention and listen actively.
Active Listening is when we know what we should be hearing and are listening specifically for that information. If you know that the winning lotto numbers will be given during a speech, you will actively listen for the numbers. Active listening allows us to focus on hearing the relevant information more clearly and ignoring the non essential information.
These two skills are vital for tests like the IELTS exam and other English proficiency tests. Especially tests necessary for university admissions.
If you want to get a good score on tests like IELTS and TOEIC, you need to develop your active listening skills and your ability to find key words and ideas in questions.
Another way to prepare for the IELTS is to focus on vocabulary. Vocabulary is critical to listening and reading comprehension. With words you have power. You will be able to better understand the context of a test question and the context of an audio portion or reading portion of the test.
I am happy that I can help you study for the IELTS and I hope that you enjoy this lesson. If you find it useful, please leave a comment and a like. Share this video with your friends that need help too.
