The meaning of Mahala or Mehla in Gurbani allows us to understand that the Guru is an eternal wisdom that does not change. Here we explore the idea that one Guru is eternal and existed before the beginning of time. It is that same Guru that appeared into the 10 physical bodies of the Sikh Gurus and is present in Guru Granth Sahib jee as Shabad, the 'word' of divine wisdom.
We believe everyone should know and experience spiritual bliss for themselves. Here at Nanak Naam charity we're on a mission to transform lives worldwide through Mantra-Mindfulness. Satpal Singh is a Sikh spiritual vlogger from the UK creating videos on meditation, mantra, mindfulness and spirituality based on non-duality.

Why Do I Cry During Meditation? Is it normal to cry whilst meditating? Yes, it is.
We all suppress a lot of emotions in our daily life. When we finally give ourselves permission to go within and connect with our inner world we can have an emotional release - which can be crying.

A simple meditation for beginners to help relieve stress, manage anxiety learn how to relax. This guided meditation is a great introduction on how to meditate and use mindfulness in your life. Many people struggle with spiritual and religious practices such as prayers and worship as they are unable to make a connection with their religion as they are caught up in the worries of the mind and have not learned how to unwind with meditation before they begin.
We're very pleased to present two guided meditations to help people overcome common issues that we are always asked about:
- I don't feel connected during Nitnem/Naam Simran
- How to stop worrying / control stress & anxiety
- How to feel Oneness with nature
You can find these meditations on YouTube and also download them for free on SoundCloud.
As an introduction to meditation, this video provides an easy breath meditation for beginners. This is a simple meditation that will help you to get into a quiet and personal space within yourself. It can be used as a starting point every time you begin meditating, yoga, prayers, chanting or any spiritual practice.
It can also be used whenever you’re feeling stressed, angry, overwhelmed and just want to get yourself back into a space of inner peace and tranquility.
An ideal position to do this is when you’re sitting down. You can also try this while walking or lying down.
In just a few minutes you will feel calmer, a sense of stillness and completely relaxed. The purpose of this meditation is to quieten the thoughts that lead to worries and anxiety and to elevate your awareness away from your personal concerns to a wider perspective. This will help to gain an appreciation that every moment and each breath is a gift from the universe. And every breath with which you remember this gift will bring you bliss and the feeling of perfection and harmony all around you.

Present moment awareness is the practice of being conscious of your thoughts and awareness as it happens (in the now), without getting lost in specific thoughts. Present moment meditation, also known as mindfulness, can be done practiced throughout your day while doing everyday tasks. Within the Sikh meditation tradition, the present moment consciousness, or God consciousness, is seen as the embodiment of the Divine presence of God. This is known as 'Naam' in Sikhism. In this video, Satpal Singh talks about being present in the moment.
There is no other place except now. Are we constantly running from the past and fearing the future? This video explores how the 'now' is always present wherever you are, and in order to be in Naam, we need to be living in present moment awareness.
