As protesters waited outside, white nationalists and others entered the Charlottesville Circuit Court throughout the day to watch preliminary hearings related to "Unite the Right." Alex Michael Ramos (charged with assaulting Deandre Harris), Richard Preston (charged with firing a gun less than 1000 feet from a school), and James Alex Fields all had their charges confirmed for their roles in Charlottesville.
Fields' ten felonies previously included one court of second-degree murder, which has now been enhanced to first degree.
Outside, Ku Klux Klan members were confronted as they entered to support Preston, while Jason Kessler, the organizer of Unite the Right, was called a "murderer" and told to leave the city.
Kessler is not charged with any crimes pertaining to the rally.
Charlottesville Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy said that the city is trying to move forward and correct its wrongs, but that that's a hard thing to accomplish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GasTvg2Ono
Jason Kessler blamed the violence on antifa, going so far as to say Heather Heyer's blood is "on their hands."
The two exchanged loud words before being separated by the police.

Tears were audible in the crowd Monday as Sarah Shoop Neumann, the mother of a student at the Covenant school where three students and three adults were murdered last week, spoke out outside the Tennessee State House.
She describes the horrific experience of witnessing a fellow mother at the reunification site learning that her child didn't survive.
"I worked in pediatric oncology for 13 years. I held kids in my arms dying many times, she explained. "Nothing compares to the scream of that mom."
"Third graders saw the dead bodies of their friends, not just coffins," she said. "They saw where those bodies laid and where it happened. The trauma won't leave us or our children."
She says her five-year-old is still afraid another shooter could come.

"Globalize the Intifada!" chanted pro-Palestine demonstrators marching in Tampa, Florida on Saturday. "Free, free Palestine!"
In chants and signs, some emphasized "Jesus was born in Palestine."
One man in Tampa attempted to challenge the protesters "where do you stand on the LGBTQ?"
"We're neutral on it," one participant initially responded, before a marshal took over the conversation.
"Starbucks, Starbucks, we see you! You support genocide too!" the activists chanted as they passed a Starbucks.
"Shame on Jane! Shame on Jane!" chanted the organizers against Mayor of Tampa Jane Castor outside a tree lighting event Saturday night.
"Jane Castor, you can't hide, we charge you with genocide!" over her support for Israel, they chanted.

On Saturday, February 16th, the Yellow Vest movement's 14th weekend of protest came to a climax during a violent face-off between police and protesters at Les Invalides.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatović, released a memo Tuesday asking the French authorities to "show more respect for human rights" at the Yellow Vest Protests.
12,122 rubber bullets, 1428 tear gas grenades and 4,942 sting grenades were reportedly fired by Acte 12. (Three weeks before this video).
The report says there have been:
-38 upper limb wounds including 5 lost hands.
-52 lower limb wounds
-3 genital wounds
-189 head wounds including 20 people losing an eye.
Many were rubber bullet headshots, despite policy being to fire at torso.
The memo's conclusion implied that France may be violating "the right not to be subject to violence or treatment in breach of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights."

Code Pink, an anti-war women's organization known for their protests against U.S. military interventionalism and violence, organized an upbeat rally on August 21st to advocate "hoops, not bombs." While with varying degrees of expertise, people assembled to hula hoop as a way to peacefully and creatively express their dissatisfaction with the United States' military campaigns abroad as well as police militarization at home. Such campaigns include military aid to Israel, airstrikes against targets in Iraq, and many more. Lauren Clemence filmed the event, and spoke to Alli McCracken, Code Pink's National organizer, who underscored the contrast between the somber tone of some of their events and the upbeat tone of this one, while their overall message remains consistent.
