Update video number 7 I bought the cheapest 80W laser on eBay. In just 10 days I went from order to a completed setup. I even got the cheapest water chiller in that time too. I documented every day (with an update) of my quest to put the cheapest 80W laser on eBay to work. I reported on the pros and cons and on any additional purchases required. It was a lot of fun, and some hard work too !

This video is about my small 5 Dollar DIY Halloween Fogger
Halloween time is once again upon us:
This is kind-of an of-topic video from me: I saw this lady puffing on
this e-cigarette thingy, putting everything around her in a haze, I
instantly remembered the battery-powered smoke machine I
always wanted ..... so here it is.
BOM:
To make this you need:
- some prototype circuit board
- 30cm nichrome wire 0.2mm thick
- some cotton pads
- some wire
- a chipset fan 12V
- 4 male pin headers (2pin)
- some fog juice (water based)
- optional: a switch
- optional: 4 crimp wire connectors
- a 7.2V 4.5Ah 6Cell battery pack
The video just covers making the evaporator, I did not build
a nice case for it.
If you choose to build this, please be careful. This thing uses
and emits a lot of energy. Built wrong or operated at wrong
voltage levels there is a risk of fire.
Be careful, be safe !
I will not accept responsibility for any damages caused by trying to reproduce this.

Some random ramblings about the new mini CNC table that
I am currently working on. It is intended to be part of a series
of modular designs that can form a plotter/cutter, a small mill
or a simple 3D printer base.
All of the design blocks and files will eventually be published
on github, as well as the software that accompanies it.

There have been a number of requests to make a video
about the controllers, arduinos, chips and boards I use,
and this is it.
I apologise beforehand for my accent, because I am a german
from Swabia that grew up in upstate New York.....
My own plotter designs are based around the Arduino nano
and my (self plotted) controller designs. They work out quite
well although I must admit that there is a certain chicken-in-the-egg
conflict around.
Since this is my first narrated video I value all input towards
improving.
The files and designs shown here are available for
download via github. See here:
https://github.com/dherrendoerfer/uCNC_controller
It is published under GPLv2 and should be considered
beta quality.

I was wrong in thinking that there was any intentional wrongdoing at work from anyone when my CW-5000 behaved strangely.
It's a brilliant machine, and you really have to understand how it works to appreciate it.
So here's my apology video with that information. My unit is just plain broken.
