A FAMILY has called off search parties for their daughter after being stalked and harassed by conspiracy theorists claiming she was "sold off."
Lina Sardar Khil's family has had to stop public search parties after being targeted by the false claims. Khil, 3, is believed to have been abducted from a playground in San Antonio, Texas on December 20, reports Fox News.
People online have baselessly deemed her parents, Riaz and Zarmeena Sardar Khil, as suspects in the case even though authorities have said there are no suspects at this time.
Some theories claim Lina was "sold as a child bride," while others say the family is keeping her captive, according to the San Antonio Express News.
One man was arested after he repeatedly visited the family's home and pounded on the door calling out for the girl. He was released and returned to the home.Riaz was able to stand his ground and scare the man away for good.
Pam Allen, CEO of Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach, visits the family every week.
She said people stalk the family during search parties, taking pictures and videos while coming up with conspiracy theories about the girl's disappearance.
"Things directed at them because they're Afghani and because they're Muslim. That's harsh," Allen explained. "[Riaz] assisted our military forces when we were [in Afghanistan]…We brought him over here to make sure his family is safe. Then this happens."
Police have warned the girl may be in "grave danger."
Riaz said his wife was watching Lina when the child wandered to a nearby path and disappeared.
During the initial search, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the department was “sparing no assets, no resource, to try to find” Lina.
An Amber Alert was sent out for Lina. She was not left by herself in the playground and there were others there at the time.
Her parents are now expecting another child, but they're struggling with the fact Lina is not there to enjoy the excitment.
Lina is about 4 feet tall, weighs 55 pounds, and was last seen wearing a red dress, black jacket, and black shoes.
Over $140,500 is being offered as a reward to anyone who finds Lina.
The Islamic Center of San Antonio is offering a $100,000 reward while the Crimestoppers is offering a $50,00 reward.

woman was handcuffed and chained to a wall in an abandoned house in Chicago for days until a passerby heard her cries for help, news outlets report. Antione Dobine, a resident of the West Pullman neighborhood, was walking by when he suddenly heard banging from inside the boarded up property, he said in a Facebook Live video taken Saturday, May 21. He moved closer and could hear a woman’s voice calling out, pleading for help, Dobine said. He called 911 and stayed on the scene until Chicago police arrived and freed the woman, video shows. “She’s tied up or something, or locked in that room,” Dobine tells neighbors who have started to gather around the house. An officer stops for a moment to talk with the small crowd gathered outside and explains the woman was found handcuffed and chained to a wall in the basement, video shows.
“The kids say they’ve been hearing it for weeks,” Dobine says, referring to the woman banging on the window. Exactly how long the woman was held against her will isn’t clear, though the 36-year-old victim told police she was kidnapped, raped and kept in chains at the South Side address for at least four days, while her calls for help went unheard or ignored, TV station WGN reported.
The woman told investigators that she was walking to a store in the neighborhood when she came across a man she had met before, the station reported. They began talking and the man, believed to be in his 60s, grabbed her and took her to the vacant house. In Dobine’s video, he claims to have seen the suspect flee the scene before police arrived. As of Tuesday, May 24, he is still at large
