The Quickpole was the line of boom produced by Ambient. Traditionally they have been 4 segment booms with the option of an extension piece that fits around the outside of the boom giving it a 5th extendable section. Now Ambient has changed their game by producing a 5 section Quickpole boom filled with innovations to make an already great pole even better.
In this video I dive deep and test the new series 5 QP-5150 boom the way it should be. It's one thing to talk about a boom, it's another to test it and I do test it heavily in this video. I also test the QP5EST flow thru with straight cable option.
Full Disclosure: Ambient did send me the Series 5, QP-5150 and QP5EST straight cable option in exchange for this fair review. I get to keep them following the review but I'm not going to allow that to affect my option so you can expect this to be a fair and honest review.

This is going to be cool! You can boom the show while on camera. Is this what you need to be doing?

There are many discount microphones flooding the market. Many are condenser microphones targeting podcasters and gamers with hopes of selling thousands regardless of whether or not they are ideal for those purposes.
For a few months now I've been communicating with a Chinese microphone manufacturer that seems to have broken the mold in what is expected from a Chinese microphone manufacturer. Introducing Fifine Technology and their K6 and K8 XLR microphones. The big question is... are they any good?
Interested in the purchasing one of these Fifine mics?

Fifine Technology made these microphones available to me for review. My review is not influenced by not buying these microphones and at this time I'm not certain if I'll need to send the microphones back or I get to keep them.

It's rare that I get this excited about a new product but in the case of the Cinela Cosi, there's a very good reason. Cinela has completely redesigned microphone wind protection from the ground up. Never before have production sound professionals been able to use low profile microphones with a highly effective wind protection but now, it's a reality!

FULL DISCLOSURE:
Cinela sent me these two Cosi units to evaluate and in exchange for a fair and honest review, I was allowed to keep one. My review was not influenced by the fact that I got to keep the product.

Welcome to the series intro of Masked Mics, a new blind microphone comparison series. Unlike other YouTube channels that show you the mics that they're comparing, I won't be doing that in this series so that you have nothing to corrupt your opinion. It's so easy for online microphone reviewers to mislead you regarding which microphone you should believe sounds better. For that reason, my comparison is completely blind and you have to trust your ears.
It's highly recommended that if you're new to this series, start with this video and watch videos sequentially. Note that the videos in this series are numbered sequentially so if you are wondering which video reveals the microphones you're currently listening to, watch the next video which will be numbered one higher. Thank you for coming to check out the intro to this microphone comparison series!

From artwork to voice, there are a lot of AI based products out there to play with. Voice.ai is currently in Beta testing but is yet another AI voice changing app designed to change your voice to something else entirely. In this video we're going to play with the app and see if it can make me sound different.

It's not often that we see a complete redesign of a product that is already highly effective but Cinela did just this with their redesign of the Cinela Leo (Leonard Ball) windscreens.
I own quite a few Cinela shockmounts and a set of Leo-20 and Leo-25 with fur (and have used them all on my booms for years) so when I tell you that they've made some amazing changes, you should take note.
In this video I show you the old and the new and why you should consider investing in a new Leo or upgrade the ones you currently have.

Full disclosure: Cinela send me the new Leo-20 and Leo-25 inside frames to upgrade my old Leos with in exchange for a fair and honest review. I assure you that it had no influence on my opinion!

Welcome to the twenty first episode of the Speed Bumps Podcast. I haven't discussed our first topic in a straight forward and searchable manner before. Boom poles can be wired in different ways and each of those configurations offer pros and cons so we're going to start off discussing those. For the second topic I'm going to cover why I would prefer to hire a sound person that knows about camera over a camera person that understands sound. Enjoy.
0:00 Intro
3:33 Pros and Cons of Different Boom Cable Configurations
13:19 Camera Op Doing Sound vs Sound Person Doing Camera
23:59 Outro
