We were engaged for 1 year and bought a house almost a year to the day we broke up. So in my mind I was in it for the long run now but I was certainly wrong on that. We were happy or so I thought. We never really argued or anything of that nature. Like most women she was hungry for control. She had it from day one and often displayed manipulative behaviour and for whatever reason I allowed this to happen, perhaps because I was and still am deeply in love with her. It's funny because in every other case in my life I am very much in control and an alpha male I'm 6 ft 2 220 lbs ex boxer and she's small and fragile yet with her I was always weak and beta and let her basically do what she wants when she wants. I'm well aware this is a recipe for disaster but I let it happen anyway naively thinking that it will make her happy. With regards to social status I have a decent paying job however I have to work 70+ hour weeks (12 hour shifts day + night) to make a good living, whereas she has a higher paying job with a lot less hours (but also 12 hour shifts days + nights). I have worked a lot of overtime from January to now to pay for our Wedding which was booked for next year in a luxury location in spain (We are from the UK). All of which was what she wanted. As a result of this we weren't seeing all that much of each other in the last few months So to get into things, 2 months ago I was at work to which I received a message from her saying that she needs to talk to me later, that's never a good sign but the last thing I was expecting was an abrupt end to our 13 years together. I came home to which she said the dreaded words "I'm not happy" I was in total shock and disbelief at what I was hearing, I asked so "So are you saying you don't want to get married?" At this point she said that she still wants to marry me however she wants to address her feelings now so it can change by next year (Our wedding date) and her solution was to "Take it back how it used to be" by going on dates etc Whilst I was in total shock at this revelation from her as I had NO CLUE she felt this way I thought it would be ok because she wants to work on a solution. However 24 hours later she did a total 180 and said to me that "It's too late" and that "She doesn't love me anymore" and that "It's over". But I am 99% sure that there is someone else involved here. There are A LOT of signs that have been there as early as March this year where I arranged to get security CCTV cameras put on the exterior of my house to which she totally flipped her lid and reacted extremely aggressively and irrationally for me wanting to make my house safer. This is despite the fact that she didn't have to pay a penny toward them it was all being paid for by myself. She was so aggressively against the cameras being put on the house that she tried to deflect her ridiculous behaviour onto me and act like I was in the wrong.
