I made it possible to add an aftermarket hotend to the Creality Sermoon D1 with this upgrade!
I received the Creality Sermoon D1 and I was in doubt if I should upgrade it. I thought that this printer could be my daily driver since most of my 3D printers are specifically tailored to experiment with. Besides some "weird" design choices I do like this printer, but the direct drive extruder was constantly skipping. ABS came out like a sponge and I was better of with a standard Ender 3 pro. I read more articles about this printer in which it was a shame that it was not possible to add an aftermarket hotend, until now...

Hi everyone! This video shows the true strength of 3D printed ABS. Often if you do calculations, you just look up the maximum strength given by the manufacturer, but it's definitely not that simple. This is a lot harder to figure out than I thought! I think I achieved my goal of optimizing the print settings for 3D printing the next version of that rim. We've had a lot of fun, learned a lot and I hope you do too watchin this :D

I was busy making the preparations for my next video and I came up with an idea which turned into a whole new video! I had to come up with a method to fixate things on the printer in order to engrave of mill them. I use plywood for this and started wondering if it would be possible to print on it. If this is the case, you probably have the cheapest print surface ever!
So, I went to the hardware store and bought some sheets, had it sawn to the right dimensions. You will find out in this video if I have any luck with it or not. Enjoy watching!

This is the follow up video off the Ender 3 pro enclosure build. I show how I add the panels, lighting and the rest to finish this. I must warn you that if you want to do the same you must be prepared for a LOT of work. This build is a bit insane and I've done more than I intended to do but I am very pleased with the result. Sometimes you have to let your creative (wicked) mind go and make the most out of it. The major advantage of this design besides the aesthetics is that the whole unit is will one piece and that the power supply is placed outside the chamber.
I have posted this as a thing in progress because I still have to add things to this printer in order t print carbon fiber reinforced nylon filament. This is what I'm going to do in the next video. The next video will not be about this enclosure anymore, I've seen enough of it and I recon some of you have too ;)

In this video I show how I use the pattern recognition tool I made with LabVIEW to generate a looping Gcode. With this tool it's easy to find patterns in Gcodes which you can use to let this printer run forever! Or until your filament runs out. In that case, check 3D4Makers https://www.3d4makers.com/ and get 10% off of all purchases by using the promo code properprinting
Check out the video by Karl if you want to know more about this looping feature https://youtu.be/_Tkl28JM5lo

In this video I explain how I add a laser engrave to the quick tool change I have created in an earlier video. This is not the first video about laser engraving, but I have used the connection I used with the swappable hot end from my previous video. This means that with this upgrade you can add a laser engraver without having to add an extra cable from the main board or create something with a switch!
I found out that it is possible to laser engrave carbon fiber reinforced nylon filament so the second part of this video shows how it is aligned properly to make this happen. As always, feel free to leave a comment or contact me if you have any questions, suggestions or remarks.
Have fun watching!

In this video I announce my upcoming 3D printing project which I'll be working on. I'm going to make some slight changes among them a new camera angle and setup (which is as the moment of typing still under construction) and I'm going to take on larger projects. These larger projects are daunting and I'm going to make it happen (hopefully) with 3D printing.
The upcoming videos will be about 3D printing rims for a car and to test them. In order to make this happen I need a car and a 3D printer capable of printing such things. I've bought a Creality CR-10 S5 which is HUGE and I have to make this printer able to print large and strong things, like a rim...
Some questions that I hope to answer are:
How to print large things out of strong materials (Nylon, ABS etc.)?
Is it possible to put a tire on it and pressurize it?
How to design a 3D printable rim?
Can it withstand the torque needed on the bolts?
Can it withstand accelerating, breaking and steering?
This and more is what we are going to find out. Have fun watching and if you do have questions or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment!
