Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II - Good Ending (Commentary)
Overall, I mentioned that the ritual is the biggest clue to the Departed's identity. For the longest time, Yashiki seems to be operating on the assumption that there is a single person involved, but the visions show you that there are two brides, not one. This means that both Himeko and Michiho are the Departed.
To summarize things here, the Departed resided in the doll and largely slept since being placed there 60 years prior to the game. When Himeko and Michiho visit the clock tower, the Departed channels Captain Ginyu and does a body swap, forcing them into the doll while it takes their body. Then once the other spirits have been consumed, they conclude the ritual by eating the two girls inside the doll.
Otherwise, once you give the correct answer, everything is kicked off and you will eventually face the Departed and have to exorcise it. The trick is just being prepared for the bugs (frog) and the fungus (doll), then you merely have to "propose" to the Departed to send it out. From there, Yashiki is able to pick up the pieces (literally?) and bring the case to a close, albeit an unhappy one due to the casualties.
If given the chance to do things over, we probably should try to smooth things over with Sakamoto. Perhaps if she doesn't perish in the forest, she may be able to lend a helping hand...

Unless you did the Green Earth campaign with Sami like I did, this is the last time you will see Eagle (and this is also the final map with Sami). He is present here to help us against an overwhelming force, and depending on how erratic his AI is for you, this mission can be a breeze or agony.
Since we are outgunned, I want Sami here. We can set up a bottleneck and poke things with indirect fire, which Max cannot do. Then her transport units are more mobile than the others, which Andy cannot do. The goal here is to cap the enemy HQ since it would take forever to run the enemy ships out of fuel.
With this out of the way, we can now confront the mastermind behind everything that has happened. Who can this villain possibly be?

Having chosen to use Aesfrost to repel Hyzante, we receive help from Avlora and a pair of NPCs who have earned their red shirts. The enemy is Sorsley's right hand man, Booker, who is a stronger version of Anna. Unfortunately for him, due to Corentin's wall, it is fairly easy to pin him down, and then the issue simply becomes whittling through his HP pool. Avlora fights the majority of the enemy NPCs, and due to her unique passive of dealing more damage as she weakens, she gets to the point where she can one-shot them from full HP. That is what we would be going up against had we managed to hold onto Roland...
As for the story itself, Exharme succeeded in his objectives here, driving a wedge between the people he needed. To get the details though, we have one more piece of the chapter, and that one is all dialogue. It will be coming up tomorrow, and then we can get onto the next mission.

With things with Hagana in a somewhat complicated state, we learn about some of the other people in the story. Toyama comes up first and we learn that despite being a loan shark, he may not be completely rotten. From there, we try to get a little time with Chris to talk about Hagana, but things start to slide out of control, leaving some fallout to be addressed in the next part.

The tutorial continues, and I think it may have been better to give someone else indirect units earlier so you don't have to deal with Max's weakened ones, but here we are. This was the first mission where I really felt the nerfs going from the first game into this one. There were instances where something should have been outright destroyed or so badly maimed it was effectively destroyed. Since Flak has no defense modifiers, this should have been worse, but you'll have to wait until Hard Mode for when the gloves come off.
Also, I end up doing the Neotank mission in this video since it is a small map. Routing the enemy is a little tricky here as he has a Lander hiding in the reef, so you have to put something next to it in order to see it, then you have to start shooting it through 2 stars of defense to actually sink it. It is just faster to force your way through the bridge and take the HQ

Sami makes her entrance and beelines it to the bench. While we are still in Blue Moon's territory, we get to go up against Eagle yet again, except this time we can field Max. Like you will see with Drake later, Max is better than both of them in their element, so with some careful navigating through the fog, we are able to ground him very quickly and then march over to his HQ.
This is one of the missions that really feels different due to the change in enemy AI. Had Eagle been able to play by the old rules, this would have been a much bigger slugfest, almost certainly to have more casualties. However, since he can only shoot what he sees, we can get an edge with some careful positioning and aiming for certain targets.
