Sounds from relays and electro-mechanical devices along the former Pennsylvania Railroad Main Line between Philadelphia and Parkesburg. Much of the signaling in this corridor dates from the 1940's and has continued in service for over 80 years.
Signal locations in this volume include:
Milepost 14 automatic signal location with multiple 180 and a single 120ppm cab signal code generators engaged. At 1:29 the 120 unit stops and ticks up to 180ppm as track conditions change.
Milepost 11 automatic signal location with multiple 180ppm cab signal code generators spread across multiple cabinets.
Milepost 16 automatic signal location what a single 180ppm cab signal code generator working in the cabinet for the reversible track #3.
Milepost 28.4 signal indication point at the Whitford Flyover. These points are located between wayside signal locations and re-transmit the cab signal code in blocks longer than 1 mile. They can also be used to change cab signal codes between waysides like from Clear to Approach Medium or Approach to Restricting.
DOWNS interlocking westbound home signal cabinet with more 180ppm cab signal code generators.
Milepost 39 automatic signal location in Coatsville with active 180ppm and a 75ppm cab signal code generators. The 75 code, for an Approach cab signal, is being generated for the removed center track that remained all of its signaling logic to avoid the expense of a regulatory process to remove it.
