Classic Sesame Street: Bus Repair ("Har Har Har!")
Frank Oz is a Fat Blue car shop guy who gets brought a wrecked bus by the audibly nervous bus driver Jerry Nelson. I think Oz's "Har Har Har" laugh is unforgettable -- I remembered it instantly -- and the way the bus reinflates is somewhere between frightening and iconic. I was also a little unnerved as a child by Frank's yells of effort while he hammers the broken bus back into shape again. From a production standpoint, the straightening up of the word bus looks simple but was definitely not easy. You'll remember this one! :) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAvHBkXMvak
I've actually had actors come at me later about this one. I warn everybody: please go to the restroom before we roll. Talent, without fail: "Oh I'm fine. We're fine. No need." Go to location or set. Costume up. Makeup. Camera ready. Start rolling. Talent, without fail: "I need to pee". ಠ_ಠ But this one is a great example of when that goes right for a change!

Gary Owens and Jim Thurman were the voiceover talents: thanks goes out to Andrew LeClerc for this information! Thurman is the writer, and Paul Fierlinger was the animator, for his studio, AR&T Productions. The Thurman Fierlinger alliance at AR&T later gave us The Teeny Little Superguy.

Hal Miller is Gordon in this 1973 segment where Sonia Manzano as Maria and Emilio Delgado as Luis construct an orange letter T together on the soundstage. I'm providing it so you can dig and scoop up that lovely, upbeat Joe Raposo score if you want it. Brief as it is, it's just wonderful and will take you back to its equally great year!

This one's been posted before, but when I spotted it in the collection I figured why not. A teeny little not so superguy catches the field goal ball then gets absolutely clobbered by about forty thousand metric crap tons of linebacker. (Muffled painful voice: "... K.")

To the music "Stars and Stripes Forever", a medic is shown taking down the weights of different patients. This was a very common thing at schools in and before the 80's and before the obesity epidemic. The final patient, a kid in a Jughead cap popular when the animator was young, seems too heavy for normal, so the doctor investigates. And finds...

I never noticed as a child, but here in adulthood, I kind of feel for this dainty, cute little girl mouse. What happens to her is precisely and exactly what happens to me every single time I show any guy that I like him.

Here's an oldie but goodie: in it, a truck operator uses what's called a Hytrol live roller to transport boxes from inside a Manhattan building into his truck for shipment somewhere. Guessing 1974? A cheerful Joe Raposo cue goes along on it, and you'll remember this for sure!
