Constantine 2: Keanu Reeves to Return with Peter Stormare!
In a sequel announcement no one saw coming, Keanu Reeves is set to return as Constantine.
Withthe Keanu Reeves-led sequel finally in the works, whether Constantine 2 will be folded into the DCEU is a big question for the franchise. Constantine debuted (arguably a decade too soon) in 2005 with Keanu Reeves playing the occultist battling demons in the DC comics adaptation. The announcement of Constantine 2 17 years later was an unexpected but exciting surprise for millions of fans of both John Constantine and Keanu Reeves, even with the place of Constantine 2 in the upcoming DC movie slate is undetermined.
Constantine's 2005 release preceded the rise of interconnected cinematic universes of superheroes, with the movie acting as a standalone story that changed the character from British to American and softened Constantine's acerbic personality, while maintaining his supernatural powers and chain-smoking. With Constantine 2's announcement, the sequel could effectively go one of two ways - either exist strictly as a follow-up to the first Constantine (as the DCEU's new Multiverse rules permit), or be folded into the DCEU's continuity. With the kind of character John Constantine is, along with the more-popular-than-ever Keanu Reeves returning, the latter seems like a genuine possibility. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lle2iPAOVl0

Actors at the first table read for Superman: Legacy inadvertently revealed the House of El crest design that will likely adorn David Corenswet's Superman suit.
To mark their first day of work on the James Gunn film, Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) and Sara Sampaio (Miss Teschmacher) took to Instagram stories (via DC Updates on X) to share their name cards from the table read. However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the crest design alongside their names appears to draw inspiration from the 1996 DC Comics miniseries Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. The revelation led fans to wonder if Gunn will embrace the red and black motif instead of the traditional red and yellow.

Director Frances Lawrence opens up about wanting to push for a hard R-rating for Constantine 2, the Keanu Reeves-led sequel to 2005’s Constantine.
"One of the biggest things for me about the first one was we followed, per Warner Bros., the rules to make a PG-13 movie in terms of violence, blood, language, sexuality. But the ratings board gave us a hard R based on their the gray zone of intensity. And my big, big regret was that we have an R-rated movie that’s really a PG-13 movie. And if I was going to have to go have an R, I would have really made an R-rated movie. I would have made it much scarier and much more violent and I would have really made an R-rated movie.
"The idea is this time, at least for me, is to really go at it and make a real R-rated Constantine which is, I think, what people always wanted originally, not the PG-13 version that just happens to get an R."

After the cancellation of Batgirl, the status of many DC movies and TV shows has been called into doubt, but there are a number of Warner Bros. projects that appear to be safe from being scratched. For the past decade, DC has been locked in a new type of war with their rivals at Marvel; where once their feud was limited to the medium of comic books, it has now spilled over into almost all forms of entertainment. DC's luck with movies and TV shows has paled in comparison, leading to a decline in their once stellar reputation. Behind-the-scenes issues and controversies have plagued the DCEU, DC's flagship shared cinematic universe, and on many occasions, this has affected the quality of the movies and TV shows themselves.
The Warner Bros. Discovery merger complicated DC's issues in many ways, mostly because it prompted a shift in the company's approach to its storytelling. Since the merger, plans for the DCEU and other DC projects have changed significantly, with certain movies receiving larger marketing pushes and others seeing their releases delayed. Even more shocking was the cancellation of the near-completed Batgirl movie after Warner Bros. was reportedly unhappy with the results of test screenings of the movie. The cancellation of Batgirl seemed to show that no DC movie or show was safe, as the movie had already cost Warner Bros. $90 million.
