Playing Private Investigator in deep space, a simple insurance investigation quickly turns deadly as I contend with a sabotaged spacecraft, long space walks, wrecked space stations and punks who clearly don't want people sticking their nose where it's not wanted. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8D1V3Q0EQg
Meltdown and Spectre present 3 different ways of attacking data protection measures on CPUs enabling attackers to read data they shouldn't be able to. Unfortunately this affects every intel CPU since 1995 and the fix will slow windows down by as much as 30%. AMD processors won't require this fix thankfully, but many pieces of software are in the process of being patched to fix this.

I need to update from KSP 0.23 to 0.23.5 which entails an huge process of downloading and installing mods. So I more or less document the process in detail, yes, it's a video of me playing with windows explorer which may be incredibly dull, but it's something that's requested by a lot of people so I hope they find it useful.
If you're just starting out you don't need everything here, in particular, the Kethane mod hasn't been used in the series beyond mapping the mun, but I need it because the sensors are on my models.
For those of you asking which mods I use here's a helpful link

It's often stated that there is no sound in the vacuum of space, but it's more correct to state that there's no sounds that humans can hear in the vacuum of space, the atmospheric density never goes to zero and so sound waves can still be carried through the vacuum by pressure waves. The ultra low density gas only allows very long wavelengths to propagate, and some astronomical phenomena produce notes so low that they'd be measured in femtohertz.

While I'm not anticipating hostiles against the Ulgarak, I do wish to reduce their ability to expand into my space, so we're constructing a border zone which might reduce their ability to move. Or maybe they'll just skip through with alternative FTL tech, we don't know, but I have to try.

TIme to leave orbit, after waiting for the transfer window of course, this is a slow process requiring multiple orbits to take full advantage of the Oberth effect to maximize my fuel efficiency. The whole escape process took about 4 hours with most of the burns being performed while I was playing something else. I actually messed up in the estimate of my window location and needed to use the Mun for a last minute orbit adjustment, it wasn't what I'd call a gravity assist, after all, a munar gravity assist for interplanetary travel rarely makes any sense right?

SpaceX's In Flight Abort Test was a long awaited demonstration of the launch escape system which would carry crew to safety in the event of a failure. The test resulted in a simulated rocket failure around 85 seconds into flight, then saw the Crew Dragon capsule escape the booster under its own power and land safely in the ocean.
The Booster wasn't so luck and tore itself apart in a fireball, with the second stage falling 40km and crashing into the Ocean at the speed of sound, making a huge explosion.
Thousands of rocket fans turned out to witness this, and document the event with special camera gear, however many missed the explosion as it was obscured by clouds from many ground locations.
