If you have watched my other videos you can usually hear a lot of noise in the background. A lot of it is from my server rack at the other end of the room. But some of it comes from my allstar node under my workbench.
Allstar is a radio over IP system similar to echolink but much faster and flexible. If you want to know more about Allstar then have a look at www.ukallstarhub.com or my site www.g7oea.co.uk
MB7ILV is located in Bootle just north of Liverpool. It is on 145.2125 and you need tones of 94.8 encode and decode to access it if you’re in the area.

A quick test flight of my Phantom 2 with Firefly 6c camera. The footage is shot in 720p.
The first segment is of the Port of Liverpool Free Port owned by Peel Ports. The second segment is of some local football pitches. As I was there the coach asked me to fly over the gutter to see if there were any footballs stick in it. I was a good little exercise as there was a strong breeze so controlling the aircraft was difficult so close to the roof.
The final segment was shot on Ainsdale Beach near Southport. The large collection of buildings is Pontins, and the large body of water is the river Mersey.

I was recently asked what Wow and Flutter was in relation to magnetic tape. So I have tried to recreate it for them. Wow and flutter is caused but the speed of the magnetic tape increasing and decreasing. This is often caused by stretched or worn belts, a slipping capstan and pinch roller and in the case of the compact cassette the spools rubbing on the case.
Thing is you learned to ignore it. There was not much you could do other than service your tape deck or replace the cassette. The analogue days were happy times.
An interesting side note. The Google algorithm still managed to detect that this is a copyrighted song despite the distortion. Usually people change the pitch of the audio to confuse the algorithm this is why some of the top gear videos on you tube sound odd. I might be an interesting experiment to take a track and manipulate it in different ways to see if you can fool the algorithm.
