It's Time! Moving The Birds To Their Winter Spot | Our Progress With Our Chicken Broth Canning.
The best time to move a bunch of chickens, geese and ducks, without it turning into herding cats, you do it at night. We've spent all week canning chicken broth. How it's going and the changes we are making with our next batch. The Idaho Pasture Pigs have names!
A while back we got and Embark Breed test kit because we were curious about all the posable dog breeds Bella had that made her who she is today. We have the results. What is she?

It's time for our first big harvest! 75 Cornish Cross Chickens Harvested. We wouldn't have been able to get it done without family and friends.
Time to move the Big Red Broilers into the now empty Chicken Tractors.
On Day 16 we had our first signs of eggs hatching. Our hatch rate was amazing for our first attempt with incubating eggs, while also running and experiment with older then 7 day old eggs.
Today we talk about dealing with the blues we all feel sometime during those cold winter months when you might not see the sun for a week. What we do to help us get through those times. It can also be healthy to get a little chilled for short amount of times outside.
I needed to be able to lift 2000+ lbs with my Kioti DK5310 compact tractor. I looked at some other video guides and came up with what I considered a better idea than what some offered. In order to lift a ton, in this video I build a homemade, DIY ballast counterweight that will connect to a 3-point hitch embedded in a concrete mold. I add a hitch extension for extra support. The whole project took less measuring, levelling, time, and headaches than others I’ve seen, and I didn’t have to cut holes for the bottom pins. The whole thing was a stress free, no brainer. Even a dummy, like me, who’s brand new to the tractor world could figure this one out. Minus my time, this project cost less than $200 and only took a few hours. Someone with more experience could probably have done it faster and may be able to improve upon this design. I’m thankful for the numerous hours others have taken to contribute information that helped me with this project. If in some small way I am giving something back to the compact tractor community, I’m happy to have done this. If you have any ideas about how to improve on what I’ve done, please leave a comment and help the community. Any pointers are welcome. Thank you for watching!

We have been cutting some of the fencing that was here before we moved, to give us more pature for our sheep. Why did we get our sheep and what are our plans with them?
We have learned a lot preparing ourselves for homesteading. But one of the best things we learned was Regenerative Farming. Lets talk about how great it can be. Oh, and there are also cute babies around here too.
Brandon and Thane go out to the pasture to move the sheep. Learning signs of a sheep who is gearing up to headbutt you. Why we let our kids experience live.
