I had NO Idea This Would Work! | Windows 10 Tech Tip | Vlog 01-18-20
It's happened to everyone. Our computers get used every day and then one day they just go haywire and quit on us. In the olden days, that meant you'd need to, at the very least, replace the hardware, and if it wasn't the exact same thing, your operating system (Windows) would freak out, often requiring it to be re-installed to resolve the issues. Many times it just made more sense to get a new computer. Well not anymore! My video card died, and since my motherboard is approaching 6-7 years old, it is getting very difficult to find compatible video cards, so I decided to upgrade from an AMD FX AM3 motherboard to an LGA-1151 7th Generation i7 Intel board with an ATI Radeon RX580 8GB video card. Due to the massive difference, I thought it would for sure need a Windows re-load, but much to my surprise...

Out of the blue, when updating Awesome Miner to the latest version so as to mine cryptonite ver7, the unit crashed while I was out of the room. I came back to find a dead miner that would not resuscitate. Also are a couple of new things I discovered after Awesome Miner updated, particularly the latest Windows Defender updates prevent awesome Miner from running Claymore.
Here are the exceptions you need to make in Windows 10 Defender Settings:
The following folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Awesome Miner
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\AwesomeMiner
The Process:
AwesomeMiner
%USERNAME% might work as a wildcard, but I used only the Windows account that has admin rights on the miner, i.e. .\Manager

Highlights of the first half of May's San Diego Critical Mass. The second half was so strung out it was not much of a mass rather than several segments of cyclists riding everywhere at night. All in all still a good ride, for those of us who could keep up anyway.

Why do we behave in ways that defy our own logic and rational thought process? Who is really in control here? In this video, I take a look from a perspective of my own actions by going meta and looking at myself as if I were an outside entity. It is interesting, and often funny to watch yourself behave like this, completely ruled by emotion and become conscious that you are not really in control of your actions, as much as you'd like to think that you are.
