Electric Current
Electric Current

In this Chapter we introduce a study of charges in motion, and we call a flow of charge an electric current.
Electric field is zero inside a conductor (In case of electrostatic). But when charges are moving in conductor there usually is an electric field in the conductor.
We can control the flow of charges using electric field and potential. In order to have a current in a wire potential difference is needed.
Electric Current
The purpose of battery is to produce potential difference, which can then make charge move. When a continuous conducting path is connected between terminal of the battery. We have an electric circuit as shown in figure.
When such a circuit is formed charge can flow through the circuit as long as conducting path is continuous.
Any flow of charge such as this is called as electric current.
