The remains of an observatory built by Sir Thomas Brisbane in 1808. There is very little left at this location but we wanted to see for ourselves after finding it on an old map.

A very quick look round an abandoned Farmhouse located in the hills above Greenock. We did not enter the building and this video is just external shots. I think the scenery makes it worthwhile though.

During both world wars, there was an anti-submarine boom located across the River Clyde from east to west. It's purpose was to ensure that only authorised vessels were able to pass through. The boom was protected by two artillery batteries. One at Cloch point overlooking the boom and one at Toward that watched over a vessel inspection point. The boom was essential to ensure the safety of shipbuilding, naval operations and merchant shipping within the upper Clyde. It is believed that no enemy vessels were able to get past the boom.
