I can't believe it...I never thought this could happen!
Tested Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 online via Ryujinx on Linux. Smash had a few hiccups, but surprisingly, I didn't disconnect from the opponent. Mario Kart 8 was buttery smooth at 60 FPS; played with two other people.
Here's the secret sauce: make sure your shaders are cached before you start playing online. This does require some patience, but it'll definitely pay off; lag spikes and disconnects will be a lot less frequent.
Oh, here's another tidbit if you're running on Linux and want to get a performance boost: install GameMode from Feral. Then launch Ryujinx with this: __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0 gamemoderun ./Ryujinx
Mario Kart gameplay at 7:00.

The basics are there but the more advanced features, such as haptic feedback, gyroscope, trackpad functionality, and adaptive triggers will have to wait until we get official support from Valve or the Linux kernel team. There's also no battery indicator when connecting via Bluetooth, so you won't know when the DS will shut off. Feels great in the palm of your hands, longer lasting battery than the DS4, built-in mic, zero input latency over Bluetooth - these are the benefits you'll get right now.
Tested on Pop!_OS 20.10 with kernel 5.8.16.
