Radio Free Geneva: Mike Winger and Limited Atonement Once Again!
Today we did a Radio Free Geneva episode in response to Pastor Mike Winger’s discussion of limited atonement (drawing from a phone conversation with Dr. David Allen) which was aired just last evening. Normally don’t get to respond to things that quickly but this time it worked out. I hope Pastor Winger will consider the arguments we have presented, and I hope others will find them helpful as well. Here is Mike Winger's video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAKyQrAO3ps Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/ ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BruZNUk2ltA
Sorry, had to try to make it rhyme. We had more streaming problems, and in fact, lost the first 30 minutes of the program, started over, and somehow managed to get a lower resolution stream to make it through the YouTube wilderness (we are posting the high quality version however). So what will you find in this two hour program? Well, we have some interaction with a transgender opponent of the faith who, of course, claims to be a Christian (why not?), we have Kyle J. Howard and Ed Stetzer doing their "third way" routine, we have R. Scott Clark sniping at John MacArthur as well. Then we talked about David Wood eating the Qur'an, Muhammad Hijab goading everyone on, and Sam Shamoun challenging Hijab to a fist fight. We then got into the Leighton Flowers analogy of a birthday party as a means of getting around John 6:44, and provided numerous reasons for rejecting this attempted work-around. We really ran the gamut today! A little something for everyone! Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/ Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

An intense teaching program today looking at Psalm 2, Job 23, and Ephesians 1, before looking at comments made by Dr. William Lane Craig in his book, The Only Wise God. Almost 80 minutes in length.

Christians who believe in the Bible, and the God revealed there as good and all powerful, have always faced the challenge, "If God is good and all powerful how can evil still exist in the world?" This video summarizes the Bible's answer by considering three areas: Sinners deserve to suffer, God uses evil to promote His people's good, and God uses evil to promote the greatest good. The video also emphasizes that we should be sensitive to the fact that there is both an intellectual and an experiential struggle with this issue and that doctrine of the cross needs to be brought into this discussion. It is also pointed out that compromised theologies regarding God's exhaustive sovereignty leave Christians in a position which cannot answer an atheist's argument.

We have no way of knowing what we will be doing for the next few days program wise, but we snuck one in today, looking closely at the infamous Marian prayer going around the net (one I was addressing in the early 1990s). Then we looked at Scott Swain's comments on divine simplicity and James 1:5.

Christian Apologist James White takes on Muslim Apologist Adnan Rashid on the issue of "The Bible or the Qur'an, which one is the word of God?" in University College Dublin, on 26/2/13. Rashid preached what amounted to essentially more law in the world, and Dr. White preached that the problem was inherent in man and only God could fix it. I was literally on my way to the office to do a remote DL in the old studio, something we have done four or five times now, when I texted Rich and asked, “I know this is crazy but…any way we could use the big studio and the Flip board remotely?” And we made it work! Kudos to Rich! Now if we could just learn to do the DL without the ugly old dumb Scottish guy! So anyway, the topic! Yes, we dove into Exodus 3:14 and did some old-fashioned inter-textual study today at the start, and then moved into a discussion of the simplicity controversy, finishing with playing a segment from a Sinclair Ferguson sermon from (I believe) 2015. If you wish to end 2021 with some deep consideration of important issues, we hope this blesses you! See you in 2022!
My apologies for all the coughs and sniffs, I actually feel pretty good, but the voice and sinuses---not so much. Spent time talking about God's decree over against Provisionist palaver (look it up), then looked at some Trent Horn material in preparation for a few weeks from now, and finished up with a real quick section from the Carl Trueman presentation, this time on "doctrinal development."

Back in the regular studio for the first time in over a month! Wow, glad to be in the old digs again. Anyway, had to talk a bit about the leaked SCOTUS decision about Roe and the explosion of simple demonic activity all around us. Then we started reviewing some comments made by Cameron Bertuzzi related to Roman Catholicism and in particular the papacy. We eventually got to his comments on Isaiah 22, and finished focusing upon what it means to have peace with God.

Schedules for all sorts of stuff today so I could only squeeze a 45 minute program on a variety of topics today from supposed foul mouths in Moscow to Calvinist derangement syndrome on Twitter.
