With the success of Resident Evil 2, to say that Nemesis had a tough act to follow would be an understatement. Taking place before and after RE2, RE3 follows Jill Valentine as she tries to escape Raccoon City. Dogging her every step of the way is Nemesis, an evolved version of Umbrella's Tyrant bio-weapons that has been programmed with only one purpose: wipe out Jill Valentine.
Without the Zapping System of RE2, where the story would change depending on which character you played as, RE3 had an interesting randomization system where some items, puzzles and enemy sets would be switched around as well as multiple branching paths, so you'd be playing a somewhat different game every time to up the replay value.
Speaking of replay value, there are plenty of unlockables to get upon completion of the game, including 7 different epilogues, 5 different costumes (including Jill's original S.T.A.R.S. uniform and Regina from Dino Crisis) and the Mercenaries mini-game.
When you compare this game to it's 2020 Remake, you can definitely see more than a few differences. To me, this is definitive version of Resident Evil 3.
