There are no Doors here - I 'busk' in park and get mentally abused by dog, ignored by its owners!
This is the only outside playing I do now. In the middle of the forest next to a lake. So much more pleasant. No traffic, no noise, no psychos, just the occasional passing dogs that tell me to shut up. I can only hear myself playing through headphones, but dogs can hear anything, so I have to assume it's mentally yelling at me like people did when I was on the street. Being yelled at is the part of busking I miss the most and it's good to see I can still get the essential experience out in the woods. I'm playing through the same set up I used when I was busking: an ipad that contains my backing tracks and lets me jam over them using a variety of guitar pedal effects. Sound is recorded direct to an H2 zoom recorder in my pocket. I didn't make a dime playing like this, (about same income I would get downtown) but I saved my sanity.

July 5/23. Here's a jam from my gig at Arts Vancouver. I did three hours. I got paid for it, and I'm thankful for that, as I made ZERO in tips. This is only a couple blocks from Waterfront station. Lots of people walking through, artists selling their art, but no reaction to music. While it's great to get paid, I'd rather people actually appreciated the music and did the tipping. I have rewritten the Phil Collins lyrics to fit my situation from the view of the people who don't care about music.

Even busking became too dangerous, as street bums stole all my money. Your donations help pay for my anti-depressant meds and weekly finger massage appointments, which are expensive. With my two hour jams, guitar strings also wear out fast, so each album you buy ensures freshness and crystal clear tone.
