Installing Pylontech US2000B/US2000C Solar Batteries #0047
Pete adds am extra Pylontech US2000B to his solar system and thought he might as well film it. Mixing the 2000B with US2000C Pete shows the configuration and how position in the sequence does matter. Please note that although only about 50V, this can source a lethal current, ensure you know what you are doing AND SWITCH OFF.

Pete needs an RF divider so he makes one - then has fun playing with different builds. 5 Different builds of the "Wye" Resistive splitter are tried and then their performance quickly looked at on the VNZ (Vector network analyser).
For information, the discrete resistors are about 20p each, the array depends on size but in the region of £2.50 to £3.50 - The boards are about £6 delivered (and there are 6 of them!)
? I purchased PCBS from JLCPCB and
? All other parts from Digi-key

Short follow-on from the Refurbishment of the Enertec 4431 function Generator, Pete goes back and replaces the capacitors after eagle-eyed Defpom contacted him about waveform bounce. Pete shows the original capacitors, takes some measurment, discusses measurement frequency and a bit about the capacitor equivalent model and how higher than expected capacitoance readings can indicate leakage.

Pete introduces his new project, building a 74-logic computer. This will be a multi-part series across several months but Pete will continue to release other make and repair videos
Once there is sufficient material I'll make the files and schematic available on github. I'll probably have a few PCBs left over so if anyone wants me to list them on ebay at cost (and a bit to cover fees) then let me know

I get started restoring some rusty old tools from various places. First job getting rid of the rust. Electrolysis is the answer and you can do it with a battery charger, washing soda and a plastic tub.
There are plently of resources showing how to do this and some people go further explaining how to limit current to ensure the action is not too strong - particularly useful for antiques.
This is far better in my opinion than buying nasty expensive chemicals - just make sure you have some ventilation.
Safety
Please ensure you use sodium carbonate (not bicarbonate of soda), Sodium Hydroxide works too but is very caustic and you don't need the added risk of serious burns.
Basic safety for chemicals- Always add the shemical to the water, not the other way around.
I should adivse you not to use stainless steel for the sacrificial anodes, there can be some chromium compounds released that you don't want to be putting on your hands or down the drain thanks.
Ideally you should wear nitrile/latex gloves, you will find the sodium carbonate does remove the oils from your skin quite quickly
