Only remaining episode of a late 60s show which brought to the UK public's attention an equally skilled magician, comic, and alcoholic. He'd go on to almost kill Parkinson, and was still making us laugh during his death at the Palladium, and also after it courtesy of a brilliant Jerry Sadowitz impersonation.
However there was a down side, and that was Paul Daniels getting on the telly more because Cooper was dead. Nobody liked Paul Daniels. They should've given the Great Soprendo his own show instead, and got Sadowitz on live at Her Majesty's.
The then-legendary Jock Stein took on the task of lifting a battered and beleaguered Scotland after the debacle in Argentina. His magic worked, and they qualified easily for the World Cup finals in Spain. The team was certainly transformed, packed with winners who between them held just about every domestic and European club honour. A true squad of champions - but were they world beaters?
