bees flying in northern Kentucky Nov 30 2021 #winter #honeybees #kentucky #bees #homestead
unusual warm front hit Kentucky and the bees are flying and obviously robbing too so i took some time to put another quart if 2:1 sugar syrup on the hives to boost them up for winter 1 last time. it's supposed to be in the 50's several days this week and near 60 on two of those days. isn't global warming awesome? normally we have already had a few snowfalls in Kentucky by now but so far nothing in the homestead. Just a lot of mornings to defrost windshields on vehicles and that's about it. I do have some really cool stuff coming up and planned, God willing. Hope you're all staying warm and healthy! ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et2sT1mSxEE
In this video I go over some of the issues that I have had since chemo and radiation. Everything from chemo brain, memory loss, unable to gain weight, losing weight, hearing damage, thyroid damage, irritability, among many others. I'm not posting this for you to feel sorry for me, be happy I am alive, but I am posting this for others who are going through chemo and radiation to prepare them for their journey. Cancer sucks, the chemo and radiation sucks, but neither are near as bad as the recovery.

if you have followed my channel very long, you have probably heard the story how i grew up hating figs because of fig Newton's. Real fresh figs taste nothing like fig newtons. They taste like someone took a butterscotch candy, poured some honey on it, then sprinkled it with macadamia nuts. Figs became one of my top 3 favorite fruits way to late in my life. Now i own around 10 fig trees on my homestead and im trying to make up for all the figs i never got to eat :) Try them! In this video i show you how to tell when they are ripe.

In the last cancer update video, I let you know I was about to get my dentures and also my chemo port removed, along with building a camper van. The camper van is done now and I have mostly just been waiting to get past this last hurdle. I am glad I am almost done with all this cancer stuff but let me tell you, the insurance company isn't making it very easy. And I can assure you its the insurance company dragging their feet ... but these are the types of things you will have to deal with because your life, in the eyes of the insurance company, is just a dollar amount.

This has been a strange weather year. The forest floor still looks like winter in northern kentucky. In previous years I usually start finding morel mushrooms the first or second week of April. By now, all my fruit trees are normally bloomed, this year hardly any are. I was honestly surprised to find any hunting today, assuming our 3 days of nearly 80 degree weather made the ground too warm but we had a rain yesterday and cooler tempts today and over the next few days could make a change for morel mushrooms and maybe this year wont be a washout after all.
Anyways, enjoy this mushroom hunting tips & tricks and passing some knowledge along how I hunt them to educate those new to hunting morels.

I hadn't used this in a couple months. I keep it unplugged when not being used. When I plugged it in there were problems. Called bowflex who sent a new console under warranty. Replaced it.
