We have arrived at the enemy stronghold, and the first step is forcing our way in. We have to fight on different terrain as we make our way forward. And when we reach the end, we lose a pair of party members. With a little hope, maybe they'll be able to rejoin us for the final battle... ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UuyuNOhRaA
To return, we are kicking things off with a somewhat major project, the original 2 Langrisser games, and potentially the many endings that come with them. Going one step further, we are using the original audio and graphics to try to get as close to the original experience.
Now, the premise of the first game is that we are a prince whose kingdom is under siege. We must flee the castle and rally our allies to mount a counter-offensive. In this part, we make our daring escape (at a very relaxed pace...) with the help of a very overpowered general who will probably not be around for too long. Now, there is no tutorial here, so we have to discover things as we go. Expect some rough parts in the beginning, but I am expecting a very unique experience as the game progresses. Stay tuned...

Grit finally makes his entrance and damn does his voice leave some things to be desired...
So the good news here is that Grit does not have any factories to create new units, so everything he has is all he will get. It is a little important to pick off his infantry north of your start as they can attack your back line or seize infrastructure, plus getting those properties allows you to build bigger, better units.
The main thing to watch out for against Grit is when his power is charged. His indirects are very dangerous normally, but they become utterly broken when he pops his power. I accidentally lose an infantry not realizing I was on the edge of his rocket range, and for most new players, this would be best case scenario.
The good news is that Grit is one of the first COs that get unlocked. So if you want to inflict him upon others, he is going to be joining the ranks quickly.

We get to the center of Jack's arc here, translation error included, as we explore the fallen castle. Harken is here too and she wants to throw down with Jack for one final time. Seeing as we've pretty much just toyed with her through all of our encounters, you should be able to imagine how things play out. However, the story between the two is not completely over yet as you will see in a later sidequest...

Sadly, one cannot simply walk into the Fairy Village. To make it through there, we have to deal with the rescue force assembled by the fairies to rescue the humans, which is why Fionn is where he is when he is. He hits hard, and the majority of his attacks are physical, so you will not have any demons immune to his attacks, meaning you can either bring resistant guys, or debuff him to the point it doesn't matter. I went with the latter.

In order to move onto the next hunter rank, I need to take on a monster that is HR exclusive. Jyuratodus first appeared in World, and just doesn't have much going for it I'm afraid. It may be different if I were using a blade, but instead I just need to stay in its face and fire down the body and it will drop quickly. What's worse, is I don't think there is literally anything redeeming to this monster. I do not know why you would want to farm this unless you are searching for crowns...

All of these fights are shown in the main numbered video, but if you want to see the exterminations on their own, you can do so here. Truth be told, all of these enemies are fairly weak for this stage of the game and once you have a full party assembled, they are easy to take down. Once you do so, you are free to collect the monetary reward and any DP that can lead to the final ranks in the game.

For the second Kanbei mission, we rotate in a new CO, this time Andy. You merely need to hold the bottlenecks and poke him down with your indirects until a path is cleared. From there, just run the APC down and take his base unless he really messes up and hands you a rout option. One more to go.

Before we go to the derailment site, I do a lap around Crossbell as all of the NPC dialogues have changed after word of this has gotten out. You cannot access everywhere, so the periphery regions are blocked off, but you can still talk to the people in the city. Don't worry, the next part will be making up for the lack of action here.

Due to a chaotic schedule (and world situation), I did not get to do as much for Halloween this year as I had wanted. Currently, I have 2 things to offer, which I hope to bump up to 3.
After a very long wait, I finally opted to go back for remake RE2, which I do believe to be inferior to the original in quite a few ways. After talking to some people, the terms of this were established to be Hardcore, S+, no infinite weapons, and no mods or exploits (60 FPS). While I am trying to go through the game quickly, this is not a speed run, as I am trying to emphasize how safely the Hardcore S+ can be achieved without doing anything really insane (other than knifing the first boss).
As for future stuff for the game, I really dislike the second runs as they don't really do that much to distinguish themselves from normal runs. If there really is interest, I can look into doing it for next year, but I hope to have other things by then.
Personally, I believe Claire has a significantly easier time with almost everything than Leon, and a large part of this has to do with the TMP. I tried to get some use out of it, but I still believe it to be a vastly inferior weapon, but it is held in the same regard as Leon's magnum in terms of game mechanics. Should you choose to abandon it entirely, you can save huge amounts of time on your run, which I do recommend doing in hindsight. Just get your Grenade Launcher, get as many acid rounds as you can for G3, and go to town. Other weapons are more effective for G4, and if you do the second run, even G5 has some tricks. For all I know, it could be possible the TMP is an awesome G5 weapon, but I am not in any rush to find out.
