Beast Wars II 35 ENG SUBBED Lio Junior’s Insurrection!? ライオジュニアの反乱!?
Translator Notes:
During the episode preview Artemis and Moon talk about the ancient Gaians. Besides the name Planet Gaia, the term comes from the practitioners of Gaianism which are termed "Gaians", or sometimes Gaianists. Followers typically approach the philosophy with the perspective that you should honor the earth, reduce or soften the human impact on the earth, and to be respectful of all life on earth. The latter perspective is extended to all forms of life such as plant, animal, or human, and followers will often try to maintain a close relationship with the planet in order to strive toward world peace, maintain global homeostasis and find inner fulfillment. Gaians will occasionally follow Gaianism along with other religions, but for many, Gaianism is not necessarily religious. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdp2I9XmKhM
Translator Notes:
When Bighorn, Tasmanian Kid and Diver are hunting for the Insectrons, they talk about doing a summer project on collecting insects. In Japan, it’s common during the summer break, for students to be assigned a project such as collecting and studying different types of insects. Insects are also very popular amongst Japanese children, which is why shows such as Kamen Rider feature a main character based off of an insect.
Powerhug uses ippon (一本) which indicates in a competition that you scored one point.
Kansai udon soup: Generally they say that the soup in the Kansai region has lighter base and less salty seasonings, whereas the Kanto region prefers thicker base and saltier seasonings.
Mikake ni yorazu (見かけによらず) refers literally as more than that what they appear to be. This term is close enough to more than meets the eye so we’ve gone with this to play up on the lore. We wouldn’t be surprised if this was intentionally done also by the writers.

Lyrics:
Courage in your eyes, you keep looking up into the blue sky
The dream seems so far, that making it means raising the bar
You are alone, the night ground is all around
But when when you see the moon, I know something shall change soon
That I certainly know
Your fight from within, will show how you've grown
Marionette, bound and tangled
Find that strength to break free
The tears that you've cried, the pain that you felt, the future you want to see
Marionette, fly away
Embrace the feeling of glee
Fortuna will smile, her luck upon you, and then you'll know you are free
There's no more desire, I know that there is no longer no fire
When you hit the ground, you took up running and didn't stop until...
The strength from within to reach across the goal line
We all want to see, that smile that's been hidden all this time
The world is your own,
and now is the chance for you to be shown!
Marionette, cut away
You have been given freedom now
The pain in your heart, that you used to feel, you were never alone
Marionette, fly away
Never look back on anything
Fortuna has smiled, her luck is with you, and now you know you are free
Marionette, bound and tangled
Find that strength to break free
The tears that you've cried, the pain that you felt, the future you want to see
Marionette, fly away
Embrace the feeling of glee
Fortuna will smile, her luck upon you, and then you'll know you are free
Marionette, cut away
You have been given freedom now
The pain in your heart, that you used to feel, you were never alone
Marionette, fly away
Never look back on anything
Fortuna has smiled, her luck is with you, and now you know you are free

前回のビデオは2016年5月12日に狩人ファンサブによりアップされましたが、リリース当時は公式歌詞が無い状態でしたので、ネットからもってきたものか、もしくはチームメンバー達による聴き取りによって得られた歌詞を使用していました。CDに付いてくる歌詞カードが手元に届きましたので、公式歌詞と照らし合わせて歌詞と翻訳のマイナー調整をし、再アップさせていただきました。…が、一点だけ変えなかった(どうしても変えられなかった)部分があります:And I know than nothing will/can stop me from standing という部分が歌詞カードにありますが、これは単なるタイプミスだと考え、歌詞表示だけは公式歌詞に沿いましたが、翻訳の方は英文法上適切であるthatを使った文章のままにして訳してあります。
As of May 12th, 2016, our translation was based on a combination of what we heard ourselves, and the unofficial lyrics that were available on the net, at the time. With the actual Japanese Ambitions CD liner notes now in our possession, we decided to revise our translation based on the official lyrics, in all but one instance.
The liner notes contain the lyrics, And I know than nothing will/can stop me from standing. Believing this was just a simple typo, our translation is based on what’s considered grammatically appropriate: And I know that nothing will/can stop me from standing.

Translator Notes:
Bighorn gets mad at Tasmanian Kid by asking him konokuchi ka (この口か) which literally means, Is this your mouth? What he’s really referring to is to kiss someone else with their lips.
Everyone begins to get fed up with Bighorn’s complaints and start to repeat mushi (無視) meaning to ignore or disregard someone. But Bighorn mishears them and thinks the mushi they’re referring to means bug / insect (虫). Then Bighorn tries to correct them by saying that he’s an ushi (牛) which is a cow / bull / ox
This was extremely difficult to convey the same mis-hearing of the word in English, as well as coming up with a way that stayed true to the original meaning. We decided to use the expression pooh-pooh, as it means to disregard someone, and then use the expression moo-moo since it works with him referring himself to being a bull.
Apache uses an old expression called sarumono, hibikiutoshi (去る者、日々に疎し) which is the equivalent of Out of sight, out of mind.
