To reduce crashes and improve performance, make the following amendments to the the Fallout.ini file which can be found at Documents\My games\Fallout3. bUseThreadedAI=1 iNumHWThreads=2 Please note that you might not need to do this if you have freshly installed the game since the Games for Windows requirement was removed in the 2021 update. 2. Patch Fallout3.exe For Large Address Aware. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6510/ Download and extract the application which should create a folder called 3GB enabler. Next, navigate to where Fallout 3 is installed, typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty and take a copy of the Fallout3.exe. Paste that inside the 3GB enabler folder, and run the START.bat script, confirm the first prompt, then press "a" to patch.
