Seventh Sunday of Pascha — June 9, 2019 / May 27, 2019
On this Sunday we commemorate the fathers of the First Ecumenical Council. Largely the ecumenical councils were concerned with the question of who Jesus is. In John’s Gospel today Jesus tells us in His High Priestly prayer who He is, and what it means to be saved. Salvation is described in four ways in the Gospel reading: 1. God reveals Himself to us, through the person of Jesus Christ. 2. God manifests Himself to us. 3. God unites us with Himself and with each other. 4. God gives us His joy. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=273YQtZPYLc
“For ye have need of patience.” 3rd Sat of Great Lent, St John the Theologian Missian, Hardeman Cty, TX Hebrews 10:32-38

We celebrate Divine Liturgy twice a month at the St John the Theologian Mission, Hardeman County, TX. On the 3rd Sat of Great Lent, we encounter St Paul’s laconic instruction: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”. We talk about this “patience,” something the world does not understand, why it is necessary, how it is nurtured, and the great blessing it brings to this life and the next.

The Christian life is simple, and following of the commandments is not complex. We have freedom and owe no man anything if we understand that all is fulfilled by loving every man. This is not complex and becomes *easy* for those who dare to attempt it. Exegesis of the Saturday Epistle reading for the 7th Saturday after Pentecost, specifically: “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law“ Romans 13:8-10,
BTW: I apologize, that my head is a little bit “chopped off”. I am a mediocre amateur in setting up a video camera.

Lord Of The Dance - performed at the spontaneous sing-along at St. Nicholas Pascha picnic :-)
I danced in the morning when the world was begun
I danced in the Moon & the Stars & the Sun
I came down from Heaven & I danced on Earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth:
Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!
(...lead you all in the Dance, said He!)
I danced for the scribe & the pharisee
But they would not dance & they wouldn't follow me
I danced for fishermen, for James & John
They came with me & the Dance went on:
Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!
(...lead you all in the Dance, said He!)
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/sydney_carter/lord_of_the_dance.html ]
I danced on the Sabbath & I cured the lame
The holy people said it was a shame!
They whipped & they stripped & they hung me high
And they left me there on a cross to die!
Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!
(...lead you all in the Dance, said He!)
I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body & they thought I'd gone
But I am the Dance & I still go on!
Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!
(...lead you all in the Dance, said He!)
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the Life that'll never, never die!
I'll live in you if you'll live in Me -
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

Some people have asked me for a blessing to get a falsified (medical) “passport”. This is my answer to them. It is pretty easy to know what to do.
I have a comment to make regarding my advice. Some people hear one word, and they look for something that is said that disagrees with their view of that word. My comments, which are VERY FIRM, are not giving a direction about that word, but rather to those who want or need a passport in order to keep their job, travel, etc. Those who know me have heard me advocate more than a hundred times for free-will in making medical and life decisions, and that we must never “other” those who do not agree with our opinions, whether they be medical, political etc. I will always give private advice to those who ask for it, but I will not act like some sort of tyrant and base my relationship with someone on whether or not they agree with my advice or opinions. It would be a better world if politicians, and even some benighted Orthodox hierarchs would follow this principle. uberTu
