New free food. Is it a Chestnut or a Buckeye? Spoiler Alert: I still don't know.
So Sam showed me a new nut tree we have on the homestead property. It's edible, but I still prefer pecans...probably because they won't grow here. If you know what it is, let me know. I'll also be finding the trees and getting an ID from the tree people. See you in SHTF, my Preparedness Family and Community.
Let me show ya what I added to my preps today, it was all delivered free from Sam's Club. I tell you the sale prices I paid as well. Also, I'm going to put some Ritz Crackers in mylar to see if they'll store as well in mylar as they do in a mason jar. Thanks for watching.

Today I stored some of my previous preps in more manageable sizes in mylar, and I decided how best to store my #10 cans to get more cardboard out of my storage, well, at least until I can get a FIFO rack for my #10 cans anyway. See you when the SHTF, my Preparedness Family and Community,

After the garden's setback, the death of 120 nice seedling plants, we decided to move all the young plants and supplies to the hoophouse. We filled my truck, then had to claim space in my husband's. The hoophouse is complete with the exception of a few things (driveway, pea gravel, pavers and shelves) and the garage at the homestead is almost complete. Retirement can't come soon enough. Here's another video of some freeze dried treats. I have found that things that go wrong with freeze drying foods are usually user error. AND, since my camera is my phone, you are saved by the bell and get a nice short video with no extra ramblings. See you in SHTF, my Preparedness Family and Community,

Here are my preferred sources for mylar bags and oxygen absorbers. Oak Hill Enterprises is Mylar Bags Direct, http://mylarbagsdirect.com/index.html , I LOVE these 5 x 13 bags, they're perfect for 1 lb of sugar, I also cut them in half for spices. http://mylarbagsdirect.com/5ex7milmybag.html
They also have round bags that will fit in a bucket, called Stacker Bags. They are only 6 mil, and are 0.75 each. This is also where I got my 6" sealer, and I like it a lot more than the one that came with my FD, and way more than using a hair straightener. http://mylarbagsdirect.com/hotjawmybagh.html
Pleasant Grove Farm is Top Mylar http://www.topmylar.com/ . I love the half gallon and gallon bags here, and the company has great customer service. They also have gusseted bags.

Hi everyone. My phone is dying, I did a walk through and the phone cut off in the middle of a video, and so the video was lost. Instead of showing you goodies in the store, you only get to see what I got. Sorry my video is late today, I am having real issues with the YT blur feature. While watching WVPM's live street where we were discussing the nCOV, she mentioned stocking up on some inexpensive foods that will sustain us if we have to stay home. She mentioned peanut butter, which I have, so I decided now may be a good time to stock up some powdered peanut butter. Well, here's how I decided what to buy. Hoosier hill lists their best by date as only 1 year after it's made. Great Value has nothing except a best by date, which is in 11 months. The Augason Farms says good for 5 years unopened, but also says it depends on how it's stored. I believe I'll be doing a taste test of all of them and storing them in mylar afterwards, then keep checking them every year or 2. See you in SHTF, my Preparedness Family and Community,
