By The Clock - Awareness of IRL Constraints & how they En(dis)able Success.
A little thought on successful sessions. More an introduction to my own point of view on the topic, and less a complete theory...and thus deeply seated in the vein of the classic 'Brigade Prompt' Style of video. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUPEkAL2kFI
PLUS STA DICE UNBOXING! From a distance, the question of who gets to do which 'jobs' aboard ship might be a source of ambiguity and conflict. As with many things, Star Trek Adventures has a reply.

This one was a bit delayed due to some house issues. A Star Trek Adventures Live Stream 'MasterClass" is coming next.
In this video, we break down the Dwarf Ancestry for the Pathfinder 2 Playtest into its component bits, and really look HARD at them. Editorial note: I did notice you gain 'trained' in battleaxe and hammers and such, which does overcome the wizard issue somewhat in weapon familiarity. It could still be better, though, and as it is written it is a bit of a tease.

For all the time I've been in the hobby, Bards had a reputation.
First as annoying and ineffective,
then as adrift and in-between many types of adventurers.
I love the 5E bard who might be better called 'Jack of All Trades' as a class...to my eyes.
Out there in the culture of play, however, the bard's 'eclectic' romantic tastes have caused an entire genus of memes to come about. How did we get here?
Your Humble Game Master was the one who planted the seed of this video--and it is in many respects it is in conversation with his video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvXTyeamn7w

#RPGaDAY Day 27: Unusual Circumstances
I once tried to play some D&D in an unheated walk-out basement in the dead of winter. It was like the Eastern Front. It might have worked if we were playing a one-note game like Mechwarrior on an ice planet...as a survival story...or perhaps a WWII Cthulu scenario on the Eastern Front....
But no.
And this is is not that story, but something more fun.
Also, my son thought it was hilarious that daddy was walking around in the creek.

The biggest ingredient in the OSR political cookbook?
Looking for pit traps.
On the 10th try, is the beat-by-beat narration of things like this using up time that could be used elsewhere? Why are the traps there in the first place?
Is your GM everyone, everywhere, like a three eyed Raven? Or is he just a human being with one perspective?

#RPGaDAY Day 30: Game Room to End All Game Rooms...
I think we could do with a healthy bit of socialism in how we finance our dream rooms...but even then, we can do so much with so little, so why not get by and let NASA get to sending probes to Uranus and Women to Mars!

Tactically probing corners. Probing the Unknown. Filling up the Cargo Hold with bulk cargo and Low Berth passengers while you chase after the 'big score.'
The Idea of At-Will Spellcasting is relatively new. But what about the idea of systematizing the trite and allowing 'connective tissue' remain an important part of play at your Table?

There are a lot of talking heads talking about how to Make Tabletop Roleplaying Games Great Again.
Guess what?
The Answer starts with YOU!
It starts with the STRENGTHS of the hobby, not with rubbing out "the Weaknesses" like Lady Macbeth!
