2002 Toyota Sequoia Ac Compressor Teardown/Autopsy
Looking for the failure in an older Toyota AC Compressor. It ran for about 2 days before seizing solid. It looks like one or more of the piston nubs broke free and allowed a piston to jam seizing the shaft of the rotor/swash plate. Not variable displacement but neat design and I hope to find something fun to do with the clutch coil. Thanks for watching ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALXJAFnaeJA
Epson supposedly had a burned up lamp connector.Turned out to have a totally different and easy to repair issue. This shows how maintenance is important. Music is from Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels sound track. I don't own the music rights, but they jam.

Dissasembled and cleaned an Epson Home Cinema 3010 LCD projector. Projector worked OK, but had some image issues that were cleaning related. I find that the less you touch in an LCD projector the better. This one turned out well. Thanks for watching.

My Galaxy S8 stops recording at 10minutes. Allegedly to prevent overheating (which I can see) as it gets hot. This is part 2.5 of the color wheel replacement and re-assembly of the (Pd)Projection Design iVision 30 sx+. Part3 has the startup and general testing.

I needed a light switch for the basement so I thought it a good time to try out the brand whose light bulb I bought previously. So far so good with the AOYCOCR stuff. They have the usual ESP8266 module running the normal buck converter supply as most outlet and bulb modules. I suspect it's Tuya firmware but have not looked.
Nice design for the contacts. Much better than the usual wire tail and nut design. My only critique is the depth of the shell. I think its also for something larger. This could be a bit more shallow. The snap off ring tabs are nice. That is helpful.

This is a fun video about replacing the incandescent bulb with a slow flash 5mm RGB LED in a 35 year old novelty beer mug.
This was invented by Jim Riordan back in 1984. Jim Riordan has a neat story and is a prolific inventor.
Check out the history here:http://www.riordanco.com/bio_jfr_inventions.htm or http://www.riordanco.com/ (don't use the home button link)
If you happen to be interested in owning this particular mug, I decided to try something and stick it on eBay for $1 plus shipping.
Until it is sold, I will leave the link here: IT SOLD! I hope [redacted] enjoys it!
Hope you enjoyed this video!

The Nooie 360 is a camera I picked up a few months ago when I got a coupon for a discount. I use mostly Wyze cams but I do use a lot of Nooie WiFi outlet modules.
This was one of the videos I lost footage of, so the last few minutes are gone. It was just me thanking you for watching and some banter about where to buy the camera.
In the video I pair the camera with my phone, measure the power used and then we take it apart! It was built quite well. Nooie/Apeman seems to have a good manufacturing standard.
Here is a link to buy it. It is not an affiliate link (yet, not sure if I care to do that). https://smile.amazon.com/360-degree-Wireless-Security-Tracking-Detection/dp/B07PJ67CKC/ref=sr_1_3

A friend has an older(2003) Ford Ranger that had problems with the day time running lights staying on. He's a professional mechanic but not an electronics guy. He chased the problem back to this fuse module but that is where he handed it off to me.
It was for his personal vehicle and he needed it that day so I fit in a different relay creatively.
This was recoded back in March (3/2020). As of today ( 12/2020) the truck is running without any problems with the repair.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone.

Long video is long. I was going to split this into two parts, but I think it works as it ended up.
This GT1080 Darbee was sent in because the color wheel was still flickering after being replaced. While I was unable to 100% verify the issue, I suspect it was due to the new lamp not having the proper IR/UV block coating. I address that in the video.
Unfortunately the projector suffered some truly awful damage in shipping (please use more packing than you think) and the casing, optic assembly and the mainboard were broken/crushed/assaulted.
Normally this would be a "scrap" unit and anything remotely useful would be kept but I had another idea. The owner is a really nice person and while they may not have packed it thoroughly enough, they don't ship projectors and between you and me, UPS store should have helped him out with packing.
Anyway, I decided to see how far I could go in getting it back up and running from a total trash pile back to a now Hybrid GT1080-HD26-UF55 Darbee... I figured this would be an interesting way to see how similar many of the models are as well as their differences.
The result was a Christmas miracle!
It is part GT1080 darbee, HD26, and UF55. The casing is an HD26, the color wheel and light tunnel mount are from the UF55. The light tunnel, lamp basket and keyboard wire are from the HD26. The Optic assembly, mainboard and power supply are the GT1080 Darbee. The lens was scratched but I was able to rotate the scratch out of the image.
While not perfect, I think this was a great example of what you can do if you have the scraps around and some determination.
*****NOTE*****
I would never ever consider this a viable method for repair. If I were to actually charge someone for this amount of work, it would exceed the cost of the projector and then some. I only did this for the fun of it, to make the video and help out a nice person. Do not take diamond Dremel wheels to your optics, nor should you swap light tunnels and chassis around. Not unless it's your only option.
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates and best wishes to everyone now that we almost made it through 2021.
