A quick presentation on my small little Titanium DIY Ulu, that can be used as neck knife or hanging on a rucksack shoulder strap to have it always ready to be used.
This sort of cutting edge coming in very useful for food preparation on the go or camp.

This is the 2nd part of my woolly Mammoth Loden Hammock, now in full swing, whizzing the needle through the wool cloth and getting tangled up in the Dyneema string.
This task takes some patient and some time without much to see but with dragging time to spend for the threading to put into the material, forming the intended internal rip-stop net that still allowing some movement and shift, but avoiding to much of a slip.
This is the last preparation for the next few weeks to come, getting ready for the woods.
In this video I show and explain the importance of worn in boots, getting them well greased and waterproof with a quick unboxing of a new pair of Altebrg Boots I got for spare.

Just a few quick tips on how to get fit for an extended hike or trip into the woods, some recommendation on how to do some personal physiotherapy exercises the easy way to get ready and calculating for the best travel weight in your pack, just set the pack-weight in correlation to your body weight helps to get a good feeling what you can cope with, without getting overloaded or exhausted.
Take it together, and it will avoid the risk of getting a hikers knee by overdoing it.
Yeah another dreadful quick and dirty unboxing of some iconic and unique pair of Reindeer leather shoe, made from all naturally tanned reindeer-hide, ideal for bushcraft needs. Just wanted to point out some unique style footwear to match my Lars Fält knife for lightweight outdoor use in the woods.
This iconic boots are also shown on the tin of the evenly iconic Scandinavian boot leather grease called Wilma’s Kängskosmorning, Leather-grease.

Yeah it's a funny world between the millennium generation and the once that are grown up in pre-smartphone times, ages ago in the past, long forgotten this days, “ONE-OF-THEM” who actually can do without all that high-tech and feeling good about it, even seams to find it normal to stay in the woods for more than a few hours at the time, unthinkable that it could be possible even for weeks to cope there in the wild... there is nothing other than just woods and well nothing... what could you possible find there other than boredom, aren't you scared being swallowed by bears and wolfs out there or worth ?... yeah that would be one of the more educated question this days, but far away from reality....
Well yeah I'm “ONE-OF-THEM” thank you very much. thanks for asking, yeah I can do just fine without issues, strangely enough I'm capable to enjoy it a lot so nothing wrong with that ;-P
Well that was a encounter with a young 23 year old Girl who did some translation with a Ticket counter in a Kiosk at Hämeenlinna Train station in Finland for me, who thought I would be one of the lost and frail elderly who wouldn't cope in this modern times any more, or at least having a hard time to cope on a overnight train to Rovaniemi in Lapland, cramped in to a single seat all night long. (do I really look that old, out of time ??)... and yeah anyway I'm “ONE-OF-THEM” out of time who can cope nicely, even in my age like 60+ and yes a warm soft train seat is luxury compare sleeping on wooden planks in a open shelter out in the woods with temperatures dropping down to 6-degree at 4am and no I haven't been lost either, unless for the modern world lifestyle ;-)
Anyway I made a stop at the hostel "Cafe Koti" in Rovaniemi Lapland, which is located in the center of town, easy acsessable walk around town and nightlive if needed for plesure and resupply.
OK this is the last Video from my three weeks Finland trip out into the woods but not the end of thinks to come, just for now... but again getting slowly ready for the next trip for sure ;-)

Slowly coming along, stitching this Dyneema D-75 Bowstring strands in to the Loden wool cloth for reinforcing it to take my weight and making it more ware resistant during use too.
So after about a 1/3 of the needed stitching is done, feeding the Dyneema strands through the Loden Wool I had to give it a try-out, putting my new DIY Hammock in to a quick Hangout test setup in the local park to see how it's working and showing you the progress of this wacky project and how I'm getting along with it.
Calculating the fixed ridgelines
For gathered-end hammocks, the recommended starting point is 83% of the hammock length for gathered-end hammocks.

After three days of messing about with this project, my new DIY-made Plash-Palatka is all finished and done, ready to go into my pack to accompany the 3x3m canvas Tarp for on the trail, hiking and Bushcraft undertakings.
Yes this has been a exhausting few day's with lot's of Tea poring down my throat, but was well worth it and I'm happy with the results.
Next on the task list is to put this small tarp-Poncho to a test in the wild ;-)
Quick day out into the cold but dry January woods. A slightly different video today, talking about traditional wooden Berlebach tripods and what wide range of advantages and possibilities for mounting Binoculars or Scopes to it, with the right accessories this sort of old fashion style little helper can offer to the needs for Birds and wildlife spotting in the outdoors.
With a mounting plate I show how my Docter (Zeiss) EDF 7x40 B/GA (now market under NOBLEX NF 7x40 B/GA) and an old Nickel/Marburg 15x60X spotting scope can be used together with the Berlebach Report 863/75 Tripod
Alternatively this tripod can be mounted onto a separated wheeled studio dolly made by Berlebach from wood as well.
