Is quarantining getting you down? So many couples (and individuals) are depressed, distracted, and even angry. Couples may feel they are stuck together … but, still they want to stick together. Dr. Lori and Dr. Diana to the rescue! Besides Zooming with therapy clients, they both enjoy learning, writing, and talking about sex. It is their favorite subject and driving passion! Sexual pleasure is healthy and helps manage stress. Dr. Diana’s new book Love in the Time of Corona has guidelines and exercises to help the couple get back on an intimacy track. Dr. Lori’s website www.StuffofLove.com has personally picked and tested sex toys – for her, for him, and for couples.
Two products that Dr. Lori created and developed are “CPR FOR LOVE” and “LUV MY VULVA.” CPR stands for Connection, Passion, Romance. For example, here’s a Connection card: Tell your partner three things that you like most about them. A Passion card suggests: Read erotica to your partner while they suck your toes, and a Romance card has this invitation: Take a shower or bath together with music and candles … washing each other’s hair and body. All of this might encourage communication between a couple who’ve stopped talking about sex – and then some action! The “LUV MY VULVA” is a moisturizing cream designed for sensual massage to enhance sexual pleasure alone or with a partner. Dr. Diana reports: It is a fantastic product! Dr. Lori will offer PRN listeners a 10% discount at checkout: Use discount code “CPR 4 Love”. Listen for all the juicy, helpful details!

Heart Of Mind Radio, Sat. Jan. 2, 2021
On today's Heart Of Mind Radio, host Kathryn Davis reviews the teachings of Bruce Lipton on Conscious Intention and Subconscious Behavior and How to Change Your Subconscious Programming. In the second segment Kathryn talks about Vibrational Intelligence.
Featured Music: Frog Dancing by David Anthony Clark, Old Souls by Diave Reeves, Precious Water by Sarah Thompson.
Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.
https://www.brucelipton.com/
Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering.
In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics. Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.

Heart Of Mind Radio, Dec 12, 2020
On today's Heart Of Mind Radio for the New Millennium host Kathryn Davis explores Taoism through the words of Alan Watts, a British writer who interpreted and popularized Eastern philosophy for a Western audience: featuring the writing of fourth century Chinese Philosopher Zhuangzi
Featured Music: Frog Dancing by David Anthony Clark, Beauty by Vargo, Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel
Featured Lecture by Alan Watts: The Teaching of Zhuangzi
Biographies:
Alan Wilson Watts (6 January 1915 – 16 November 1973) was a British writer who interpreted and popularized Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Born in Chislehurst, England, he moved to the United States in 1938 and began Zen training in New York. Pursuing a career, he attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, where he received a master's degree in theology. Watts became an Episcopal priest in 1945, then left the ministry in 1950 and moved to California, where he joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies.
Watts gained a large following in the San Francisco Bay Aria while working as a volunteer programmer at KPFA, a Pacifica Radio station in Berkeley. Watts wrote more than 25 books and articles on subjects important to Eastern and Western religion, introducing the then-burgeoning youth culture to The Way of Zen (1957), one of the first bestselling books on Buddhism. In Psychotherapy East and West (1961), Watts proposed that Buddhism could be thought of as a form of psychotherapy, and not a religion. He considered Nature, Man and Woman (1958) to be, "from a literary point of view—the best book I have ever written." He also explored human consciousness in the essay "The New Alchemy" (1958) and in the book The Joyous Cosmology (1962).
Zhuang Zhou, commonly known as Zhuangzi, was an influential Chinese philosopher who lived around the 4th century BC during the Warring States period, a period corresponding to the summit of Chinese philosophy, the Hundred Schools of Thought. He is credited with writing—in part or in whole—a work known by his name, the Zhuangzi, which is one of the foundational texts of Taoism.

Dr. Ashley Mader (www.OurShine.org) and Dr. Diana explored the connection between cannabis and sex, and whether cannabis might be right for you, the risks and rewards, and some dos and don’ts. In Dr. Diana’s book Love in the Time of Corona, the value of being silly, playful, and in the moment are keys to a more enjoyable sensual and sexual connection with your partner. Of course, you don’t have to be high on cannabis to act silly or playful, but it can help some people to loosen up. It’s important to know the law and practice informed consent. In Dr. Ashley’s practice in Massachusetts she has clients from 18 to 80 years of age, and more than half of them use pot in some form – for pleasure, for sleep, to alleviate anxiety/stress, and for medicine, perhaps to relieve pain. She mentioned a study by Dr. Becky Lynn, St. Louis University, where women reported better orgasms when high. This can serve to strengthen the couple’s bond. The feelings of euphoria generated by cannabis often lead to a sense of playfulness and may lower inhibitions, allowing for your playful self to emerge. This can be a journey of discovery: there is no set pathway for learning how to navigate this new territory; there is no destination to aim for. The bottom line is that sex is fun … it’s adult playtime for pleasure-positive experiences! There is more at www.DearDrDiana.com.

PQQ supplementation associated with improved cognitive function among older individuals
Teikyo University (Japan) and Texas Southern University, August 27 2021.
A trial reported on August 20, 2021 in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition resulted in better memory and cognitive function among middle aged and older men and women who received supplements containing pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) disodium salt in comparison with a placebo.
PQQ is an antioxidant found in cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, apples, bananas, green tea and other foods. PQQ supports the growth of new mitochondria, which are the cells’ energy-producing power plants. PQQ also protects nerve cells by increasing the expression of nerve growth factor and its receptors, as well as by suppressing the aggregation of amyloid beta.
The trial included 58 participants between the ages of 40 and 80 years with aging-associated cognitive impairment who received 12 weeks of 21.5 milligrams PQQ per day or a placebo. Cognitive performance was evaluated before the treatment period and at 6 and 12 weeks. A questionnaire that obtained information concerning subjective forgetfulness was also administered at these time points.
At the end of the trial, significant improvement was observed among the group that received PQQ in areas of cognitive function that included composite memory, verbal memory, reaction time, complex attention, cognitive flexibility, and executive function (judgement) compared to the placebo. Motor speed was also better in the PQQ group after 12 weeks. Subjective forgetfulness was improved at 6 and 12 weeks in PQQ treated participants in comparison with the placebo. Reported adverse effects were mild in both groups.
Authors Yoshiaki Shiojima and colleagues cited several mechanisms that contribute to PQQ’s observed benefits. They concluded that the “study demonstrates that supplementation of PQQ disodium salt is useful in improving memory, attention, judgment, and cognitive function, in middle-aged to elderly population, who feel they have become more forgetful because of aging.”
Green neighbourhoods linked with better heart health
University of Miami, 28 Aug 2021
People who live in green neighbourhoods are less likely to develop cardiovascular disease, according to research presented at ESC Congress 2021.1,2
“Higher levels of greenness were associated with lower rates of heart conditions and stroke over time, both when an area maintained high greenness and when greenness increased,” said study author Dr. William Aitken of the University of Miami, US. “It was remarkable that these relationships appeared in just five years, a relatively short amount of time for a positive environmental impact.

Our Primary RelationshipWe often think about our relationship with our partner as being ourprimary relationship, but in truth our primary relationship is the onewe have with ourselves.Cindie and Walt talk about some of the things we can do to helpourselves get through these trying times much more easily.Cindie tells a story about a couple who went ballistic on Cindie and herhusband Scott for having the temerity to drive around the couple whilethey were discussing things next to a golf cart in the middle of thestreet. For Cindie, it was an opportunity to practice choosing how shewas going to respond to such a situation rather than doing the typicalknee-jerk fighting back response. She also gives a really good suggestion about how to take advantage ofsleep to bring needed solutions to us during our waking hours. And Walt tells how he unwittingly uses sleep to get himself to stopfocusing on what he doesn’t want!To subscribe to our podcast via iPhone, iPad, or iPod, click here:https://apple.co/2qlDSneTo subscribe to our podcast on an Android device, click here:http://tinyurl.com/y6cm2yt9To subscribe using any device, click here: https://www.loatoday.net/Our YouTube channel is at: https://bit.ly/2XRzhZDWatch our livestream at:https://www.youtube.com/c/loatodaypodcastvideos/liveAnyone who wants to talk to us on the show on Wednesdays can do so bygoing to: https://zoom.us/j/8602645432And for all of our existing LOA Today subscribers, please keep sharingon your favorite social media channels that you’re listening to LOAToday, so that more and more people can get their daily doses of happy.
