Probability Calculation: Shared Birthdays Among Five People
Join us in exploring probability theory as we investigate the likelihood of shared birthdays among five individuals in a room. In this tutorial, we delve into the probability of at least one shared birthday among the five people present. Through a systematic explanation, we elucidate the steps involved in calculating this probability. Whether you're intrigued by probability or fascinated by coincidental events, this video provides valuable insights into understanding the likelihood of shared birthdays in small groups. Tune in to uncover the probability of shared birthdays among five people!
In this video we solve the problem: Suppose five people are in a room. What is the probability that there is at least one shared birthday among these five people?

Tangent Lines. Find the equation of the line tangent of y=-5/(x^2+1) at (-1, -5/2). We learn how to find equation of the tangent line of y=-5/(x^2+1) at (-1, -5/2). We learn how to find the equation of the line tangent to the function at a given value. Our answer is in slope-intercept form. In this video, we review how to find the tangent line of a function at a given point. We use common derivative properties to solve the derivative of the function which we use to find the slope of a function at a given value. We then find the y-intercept of the tangent line to find the full equation of the line tangent in slope-intercept form. This is a great introduction into derivatives. This is under the topic of Applications of Differentiation with this free online math video lesson. #tangentlines #findthetangentline #derivatives #tangentlineatagivenpoint #findthederivative #calculus #calculushelp #minutemath #minutemathhelp #onlinemathlessons

Mean Value Theorem. Find the values of c that satisfy the Mean Value Theorem of y=-(x^2/2)+x-1/2 [-2, 1]. We learn how to determine if the Mean Value Theorem can be applied to y=-(x^2/2)+x-1/2 [-2, 1]. If it can, we find all values of c that satisfy the theorem. If it cannot, we explain why not. We learn how to apply the Mean Value Theorem to a function. We first determine if the Mean Value Theorem can be applied. If it can not be applied, we state why. If the Mean Value Theorem can be applied, we first take the derivative of the function. We then set the derivative equal to (f(b)-f(a))/(b-a) and solve for x. Once we get these values we determine which ones are within our bounds of the problem. These values are the values of c that satisfy the Mean Value Theorem. This is a great introduction into the Mean Value Theorem. This is under the topic of Applications of Differentiation with this free online math video lesson. #MeanValueTheorem #findthevalueofc #ApplytheMeanValueTheorem #MVT #derivatives #calculus #calculushelp #minutemath #minutemathhelp #onlinemathlessons

Continuity. When is f(x)=x^2/(2x+4) continuous? We learn how to find the intervals on which f(x)=x^2/(2x+4) is continuous. We will also classify the type of discontinuity when needed. The type of classifications for the function can be Continuous, has an Essential discontinuity, or a Removable Discontinuity. This is a great introduction into determining and classifying continuity. This is under the topic of Continuity with this free online math video lesson. #continuity #discontinuity #essentialdiscontinuity #removablediscontinuity #calculus #calculushelp #minutemath #onlinemathlessons
