Prusa Should Make This Innovation Because Nobody Else Really Can
Prusa is setting himself/itself up to be a dominant player in 3D printing. This innovation would be a homerun for profitability and would be a great new feature to see on the Prusa printers. Two words: Ribbon filament. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rlXYFYDhs0
The Superfly is a new housing for the tried and true Bondtech BMG. It drops about 37 grams of weight, but surely that weight savings must come at some cost, right?

I found a successful Kickstarter campaign called "The Shotgun Shell" which raised almost $18-Thousand dollars. I was able to redraw the part in under 40 minutes, and then print one off the same day. If it's that easy, how did they sell so many of them? Answer: By Being Social Media Influencers.

In part 1 we built the router and did a test engraving of a piece of wood. In this video we will do a real project and make a metal engraved name plate using a new free/open-source software program. The whole process is shown in detail from drawing the artwork to generating and modifying the Machine's operating code (gcode). If you were ever curious about CNC machining, this is a great place to start.
To get a copy of the updated firmware, please donate $1 to my Patreon and then send me a message over there asking for the "T8 GRBL 1.1 hex file" : https://www.patreon.com/designprototypetest

The hobby of 3D printing needs more touch probe options. The comparison of BLTouch vs. XYZ is kind of stupid because the vast majority of BLTouch alternatives are just clones: IP theft of the original design by Antclabs. The TouchMI is an optical touch probe at half the price of a BLTouch, but I think we can do better than that. How about 13X cheaper!?! This DIY solution uses the original touch probe idea of an Allen key activating a switch. Only this time the Allen wrench activates an optical sensor for some surprisingly accurate probing. Of course this design will only work on a Creality Ender 2, Ender3 (original), and CR10 (original) but these happen to be some of the most popular printers in the world, so hopefully lots of people will save lots of money with this awesome upgrade.
I'm working on the geometry still. It's not ready for everyone yet. Please check back later for the link to functional geometry..

Ever since Patreon decided to be judge jury and executioner for free speech on the internet people have been abandoning the platform. The thing is, I depend on Patreon for the meager income this channel provides. Whereas before my Patreon income was steadily rising with a typical attrition rate of approx $20-$30 in a given month. Over the last three weeks it has declined, and I have lost $75 worth of monthly pledges. This will add up to hundreds over the coming months
The Patreon exit questionnaire does not have a check box for "I'm stopping my support for this creator because I disagree with the politics of Patreon." Therefore, I cannot know this for certain, but I suspect this three fold increase in losses for my channel comes from people leaving Patreon because they don't agree with what Patreon is doing.

The "FLSUN i3 Plus Dual-Extruder" is the dual nozzle version of the FLSUN Plus T 3D printer. The single nozzle version of this printer is also called the FLSUN C Plus I worked on this thing for many days, I replaced and rebuilt half of the printer, and I even got expert help to build a new firmware for it. After all that work, I got it printing! It's still terrible, and a fire danger as well. The devil is in the details, and this printer gets almost none of them right. To say this is in beta stage is an insult to alpha. It's obvious that nobody who works at FLSUN ever got this printer working, but they expect you to buy it and get it working. I guess that's why they call it "DIY" in the product title.
You can purchase it over at Gearbest for $330. Or maybe, don't be an idiot, and buy an Ender 3 instead: https://youtu.be/KjQ0gEeBZZ4
