Part II of the wood-screw chuck modification video. Sorry it took so long, but for some reason I was not able to login to my google account for the past month. https://youtu.be/oP0RW0q3pz8
The little old German smurf lathe is back in the tool temple!
I bought this lathe on a whim and haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or sell it. But first I need to get it going again. It needs a new belt, a new motor and a VFD drive. When that's all done I'll done I'll decide what to do, after some testing of course. If it works great, I might even restore the old machine make her nice pretty.

I modify some sort of spindle nose attachment that came with my old wood lathe. And make it in to a fixed drive centre for my vintage Karger lathe. Now I no longer have to true up the pointy bit in the 3 jaw chuck every time I want to turn between centres. I also try out some pressure turning between centres.

After replacing the electric motor of my very old lathe, I'm turning down down a fresh log of oak, producing my first wood chips ever.
Yeah baby!! Sweet success.

I got this old Brooks B66S leather bicycle saddle that need some love.
It's broken, dried out and sagging like an old horse. Lets see if I can repair/restore it.

I also restored a B66 saddle (longer model): https://youtu.be/B-UglpP9V9A

In my previous video I machined a v-goove for a XPZ v-belt into the old round leather belt pulley, from my vintage Karger lathe.
Now it's time to reassemble the spindle. But before I can do that I need to polish up the spindle bearing journals and clean up some other parts.
And in my next video I'm going to install a vintage frequency controller, that will bleed your ears out, and on old junk-yard electric motor the could use some new bearings.

In this video I compare an original vintage EMCO Dickson quick change tool post to a copy named Dixon and sold by the Dutch company HBM. I suspect the qctp copy originates from India as all the eBay advertisers that sell these seem to come from India.

A while ago I bought this weird lathe that was made in Holland. I tried to find more information about it online, but couldn't find anything.
So who can help me with the history of this enigma?
It really is a bit of an oddball machine, if you ask me.
