Ethereal Enigma - Part 5 Cafe Date with Kira (Kira)
I am trying to put her name in the title so people are not confused about the route. Anyway, in this one we happen to run into her at a cafe and get her to wear the one piece of cosplay that excites so many fans. I went ahead and made it the thumbnail for you guys just to show that I sometimes care. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKrXWJMeZmQ
This raid caught me slightly off guard as I am going to be fairly busy for the coming week. By sheer chance, I had the perfect Pokemon for this one already made and Blue had a small window to help record, so here we are.
This Noivern is the same one that I used in an earlier video. I use Taunt on the first turn to deny Decidueye his buffs while Blue burns him to cut into his damage. From there, I start the debuffs while Blue starts buffing. From there, Blue almost one-shots the thing, and then we have to use our offensive moves to clinch the victory.
Sadly, I did not get to Taunt a second time to block Swords Dance and Grassy Terrain, but due to the sheer damage we did, it ultimately was not a problem. If not for Blue almost murdering the poor thing, I would have needed to use Taunt right before Blue knocked him into next week (when he will be available again!).
Almost worth mentioning, I borrowed the Legends game from Blue and I'm not sure if I will record it or not. As such, you may see my preferred starter for that game coming up in the next few weeks as I expect to see the other Legends starters.

You know the drill by now, but there is one change up. We still need to make our way to the place before we can loot it, however there is an optional boss outside of the place that unlocks something for merchants. They only appear at night and you have the option on when to fight them. At this stage, we are well beyond the threat they offer and I can make short work of them.
From there, we enter town and I do the usual looting as I prepare for Agnea's finale. That will be the next video, but I need to sit down and edit a lot of these.

As promised, we are making our return here. The segments are looking to be pretty lengthy, so I will probably not be able to do daily uploads until Cold Steel is completely uploaded, but we can get a few of these out a week.
In this part, we need to help Space Boyfriend get over his heartbreak, which sends us dumpster diving at the behest of his crew. We have to navigate the garbage dump filled with obsolete electronics until we finally find someone who has beat us to the tape. Due to a distortion in space time, she is brought to a stop and we have to beat a loading screen to get the tape. However, things do not play out as the crew hoped, leaving us facing off against one final opponent...

I'm arriving a lot later than I wanted to, but I opted to start covering this game due to the kickstarter for a spiritual successor (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublekickstarter/armed-fantasia-and-penny-blood). It has already met its funding goal, but there are still a few days left in it to hop aboard if you want to bring its successor or Shadow Hearts into reality.
As for the game itself, I am going into this blind, having no familiarity with the series at all. I know there are wild west themes present that would make Vash or Sundown proud. Seeing as this is the digital version available on PS3, I can't comment on whether the load times or anything has been improved here, but we can see what is available for most people to still acquire.
In this part, we get to meet the various characters, and I have left the random battles in tact so you can see what they're like. Sadly, the encounter rate can be a little punishing at times, and it is going to make editing some of the future parts a bit of a chore. I like the premise of the puzzle elements, but we will need to see where they go with them when we have more tools at our disposal to get from one side of the room to the other.
There is a copyright claim on the video for the opening song, so there may be ads. I am hoping it will be the only one.
As for long term, I want to work on this when I have some down time. With Zero right around the corner, I will be giving it priority, but I am hoping to get some of these out periodically so we can bring a piece of gaming history onto the channel.

The temple investigations will be their own videos, because I hate that element of the game. Before we can get to it though, we need to deal with PACT, namely the Huntress. If the Maray is mobile enough, this can be a fairly easy mission as you can continuously dodge the Vanguard Cannon while your mechs fight the Wolf Brigade. Two of the Wolves have gotten stronger than in our previous fight, but the rest are about the same. Unfortunately for them, our mechs are vastly stronger than they used to be, so it is fairly simple for us to lay waste to them and turn our attention to the Huntress.
You may have a financial incentive to drag out the fight as there may be more mechs that spawn, but I wanted to bring this to a close as quickly as possible, so we win in half the allotted survival time.

There were less conversations here than I was expecting to be honest. Thing is that without any major bombshells being dropped, it may continue to be like this...

Having attained level 25, the next step for me is to attempt the driller promotion to unlock more in-game content. This will be a series of 4 missions that should be easier than the previous video. Due to fatigue from trying to get that one to work, we wanted to kick back a bit, which is why we knocked the hazard down so significantly. This was essentially the final game of the weekend, so we wanted to take it easy. Driller promotion will continue next weekend barring catastrophe.

In the interests of time, I cut up the dungeon itself removing any backtracking and needless exploring. As a result, we kick things off by exploring the Treefolk Village and talking to everyone as per usual. Once that is done, we tackle the Road to the Proving Grounds which is nothing we're unfamiliar with.
The Proving Grounds is a little different with a slight puzzle element to it as you are able to rotate the corridor to create different paths. By adding more pieces to it by finding the gears in the two corners, we are able to access where the lock on the door is and then progress to the boss area.
For the bosses, there are two fights. The first one is against the golems, and you must knock out the big one first to get its entry. It can get stuck in a loop where it will spam healing on the small one, so a lot of people are tempted to overlook it. If you want to be a completionist, take it down then worry about the small one. For the small one, you need to defend against the attack from the other statues. If you can get to that point, you are most likely golden.
After that fight, save and heal as there is another fight coming. For this one, I calculated it would actually be easier to replace the lost EXP from KOed people than it would be to use the healing items the fight really required (you need Incense). As such, I sacrifice party members to take down the first enemy, and with him out of the way, we are free to take down the second and bring this dungeon to a close. Kallathor will permanently join the group, but the other guest characters have their own things to worry about.

In the event you do not choose to confront the Departed at the end of the first case, this is what happens. Additionally, I show some alternate text in the infirmary to demonstrate that your options produce the same result.
